Truck driver b.s.

Well I had a good day yesterday, compared to y'all. We unloaded 2 trucks from Canada and loaded out 3 trucks.
Man watching these guys back in is painful. But I'm probably crucial about backing in with my LTL past. Oh yeah my previous employer Averitt is supposed to be bringing us lunch today. Apollo flame calzone. We only have a few trucks to load out today and off on Good Friday 3 day weekend.
Yardwork and wrenching on the 84' BMW motorcycle to get it up and running .

When I worked for N&M (local/regional LTL) and later OD, I would see OTR guys struggle to get into doors at times and would have to remind myself that I was often in more doors a day than some of them were in a month.

Well yesterday my truck had an issue, no start and just clicked. Finally got it running and dropped it off at the shop. Picked up one of the cats and drove it yesterday. I really do not like that cat, beats ya to death. I hope I get my truck back soon. 18 year old p.o.s. but it drives much better.

Sad part is that it was an owner-op. He was at the right building just tried to come in the front door. When he got to where he was going they put him in the only hard door on the dock.

Boss was terrible yesterday. I'm finding it very difficult to keep my mouth shut and just try to ride this out.

Had another truck from Canada first thing yesterday coils like tires again . Then sent out 2 full trailers in the afternoon. Have several on the schedule for today again. That's great because we need to get rid of some freight.

 

Got into it with the head butt kisser yesterday. I'm sure I'll get called into the office, lol. But I don't care. I'm just trying to ride my time out. I wish I would have kept my mouth shut but sometimes I just have to put my foot down. Im not taking any crap from a guy that's 20 years younger than me. He's a boy in my eyes. Disrespect me and you'll get it right back and then some. I don't care if I get fired at this point. It's all about principals with me. Good thing is that he'll pout now and I won't have to talk to him for awhile, lol. Cuz I hurt his wittle feelings. He's not used to people not putting up with his crap. Throw me under the bus, I don't care. I'd rather have my dignity.

Going in early tomorrow to cover for a buddy. At the very least it’s gonna be a 12 hour day. Got a landscape project that I estimate will cost about what the four hours OT will net so perfect timing. Get it done without affecting the budget.
Also got my truck back from the shop today. Don’t know what they did but it sounds like there’s a five foot bush hog running under the cab. New radiator and supposedly a new tensioner pulley. Also apparently let all the Freon out of the ac while they had it apart. They’ll be here to look at it Saturday.
