Truck driver b.s.

Man you beat me to it again, lol.

 

Getting really slow at work, all 4 drivers had an early day yesterday. They tried to send me home after 4 hours. 2 other drivers where already working in other areas of the plant. So they try and send me home early on a Wednesday and tell me I can use half a vacation day and then tell me I might have to work this Saturday of a holliday weekend. That's bullshit! If we are so slow they should just say enjoy your 3 day weekend. I may have to accept one of the many offers I get for driver jobs, I gotta go where the money is to get a real paycheck. 40 or less hours a week ain't cutting it.

I'm trying to ride it out but unfortunately the writing may be on the wall. Taking things one day at a time at this point.

 

Thanks for asking. Much better. Came back to work Tuesday. Wife and kid still feeling shitty, but getting better. Can't figure out how we got it. We don't go anywhere except normal shit like the store. Pretty sure I'm the one who brought it home since I had it first. 2nd go around with it btw....

 

It's FRIYAY! Still don't know if they are going to make me work tomorrow or not though. It would suck if they don't give us a 3 day weekend for the holiday especially since we are so slow.

 

Had the Saturday off, Monday too. Diggin it.

 

Working tonight, but once Monday hits its time and a half plus holiday pay.

 

Any LTL drivers here? I recently started at old dominion and going through their program to get my class A. Been a great experience so far.

 

My brother drives for old dominion and really likes it. That's saying something cause he hates/bitches about everything. Good luck.

 

It’s been amazing so far. Very fortunate to have gotten in with no experience and no license. Been having a good time driving around the yard and moving the trailers.

Well I'm back at it today. Still in the rental truck but at least it has air, 90 today. 4 days to go, lol.

I had my annual review today. I got a $3.25 an hour raise and 3 more personal days.
WOO HOO!

 

Yeah that puts me closer to what a truck driver should be making. I'm very happy. I guess the company is figuring out what they have to do to retain drivers.

 

Last run tonight then 3 off!

 

Just got truck back, going right back to the shop, again. Coolant sensor bad. Been dinging at me all night.
