It's FRIYAY! But it's gonna be a long one for me. Having me start an hour later and then I have a very late pick up at the end of the day. But that's OK I'll take the hours at my new pay rate,

    Good morning drivers.

I don't typically post much anymore, but I figured I wouldn't be a bad idea to write this PSA.

Please, take care of your health and yourselves. I wasn't...

For whatever reason I still think that I'm 25-ish and eat and drink whatever I want without repercussions. Not so much. Gained weight, got lazy and eventually it caught up with me while we were camping over Memorial Day weekend.
Middle of the night I woke up with what I thought was a massive heartburn, which didn't want to go away, and some shoulder and arm pain. Turns out it was a heart attack ! Thankfully not a massive one, so I'm able to write this stuff to ya'll!
The hospital we went to (closest to the camp site) wasn't equipped to deal with fixing me, so I got transfered to different one, that specializes in cardiovascular stuff. Still far away from home!

I'm fixed up now! They fixed a blockage and installed a stent (hopefully there won't be any issues with that, unlike what my sibling dealt with some 10 years ago).
So now, it's time to turn a page, start a new chapter, and actually be responsible about my health, and not just "everything else"!

Be safe out there drivers and pay attention to your health!

Thanks John! There's definitely an adjustment coming, with food and meds as well.
My brother ended up with a double bypass, and he's been doing fine for 10 years so far

I eat a fairly healthy diet and I excersise. I could stand to loose about 30 lbs though. I ride my ebike to work every day that it's not raining, gets my heart rate up and burns some calories. My problem is carbs, it's hard to eat health at the prices in the grocery store lately, but I'm not in bad shape for a 61 year old man. I'm glad your ok.

I definitely get the "driving is not great for physical health" stuff. I've had some actual injuries from sitting in the chair myself, took about 2 weeks off my workouts with some strange leg stuff after one haul. I feel for you guys, it's not easy. I've had a pretty cush work life being a software guy for my career, sitting on an exercise ball and moving around all the time. Not the same when you're behind the wheel with tens of thousands of pounds in heavy traffic.

Also my bro in law was at his biggest when he was doing a ton of driving. So I get it.

With that said, I get significantly happier when I'm mostly fit, or at least fit enough to train to get fitter. There's that sweet spot of healthy and maintainable. Doesn't take much, just building out those habits and not letting a few problems snowball.

Pretty much. Got me on the speed fair and square, I'll eat that, but the 2nd one is bs. It is not illegal to run left lane if passing, he said since I was speeding it didn't count which is a load of crap.

Ac went out on the rental truck today, thankfully it's cloudy and breezy and not blazing hot. I hope they finish my truck soon, I'm really starting to be tired of this rental p.o.s.

I’m with him I’d rather take an older truck with good AC then a new truck with bad AC. But I do enjoy my bluetooth.
