Well I just found out one of our drivers that's been here awhile is leaving. I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet but next Friday is his last day. So now we will be short a driver again. This probably means long days for the 3 remaining drivers which includes myself. Only good thing about this is I move up the seniority ladder one step, I'll now be number 2. I hope I still get my vacation time I scheduled off in 2 weeks, I'm only taking 3 days off to give me a 5 day weekend. I need a break. Wierd how things change sometimes.

Just enough to look kinda cool.
Got to do some runs in our heavy’s yesterday, moved a camper and some new ups box trucks. Those box trucks are getting fancy, electric doors, push button start, all led.

Hot as heck humpday, and no ac in my truck. Upper 90's today and heat indexes well over a hundred. OK I'll stop whining now. I don't do well in heat.
Stay cool and be safe drivers.

Now that sucks:(... and if you are driving a truck with a DEF system:mad:... imagine when that regen cycle kicks on...:bananadead:

Drink plenty of fluids and if the cab has room, purchase a bag of ice ...even if it sits in a cardboard box... the ice chips throughout the day will make the hours go by faster:hattip:

    Stay safe out there...

I got my truck back around noon today. Ac works. Was hot dropping and hooking the trailer and transfering my gear in 90 degree heat. I don't know what they did to my truck front end but the steering is very tight and sticky now, don't like it. But it's got to go back in at some point to get a new oil pan, so they say. I don't think that's where the leak is but what do I know, I'm just a stupid truck driver. Drops on the ground say oil pressure sending unit. It's a gallon every 2 weeks. They ain't getting it back until the Temps cool down or the ac quits again, they can't seem to fix the ac, it's probably been in over a dozen times for that. But I'm also glad to be out of that automatic rental truck, what a pos!

Ugh, getting out late. Having to wait for reload. Reefer unit stopped working. I'll throw straps for loader, speed him up a bit.

Man I hope today is better than yesterday. Fingers crossed that the ac keeps working. Hot 91 today. I'll be cutting back on the coffee and drinking more water.

This thread really took off since my last appearance. Back in September I made a career move into heavy haul with Keen.

Still here -- fortunately I think some life changes this summer might have me eye-ing local jobs in and around Nashville TN by fall.
