Another hot one today. Been really slow at work, 8 hour days or less. Gonna be a struggle to get my 40 this week.
    Be safe drivers, stay cool.

At the tire repair shop, got a nail in my trailer tire. Started to pull it out and it started hissing so I pushed it back in, lol. They tell me it's going to be a
    2 1/2 to 3 hour wait.

Friday yay I've been bitching about my AC not working for a couple of months ( it's 2022 ffs) . Oh well I'll just book it after 8 hours no point in working for 10. I always said you want me comfortable, no stereo or ac and I start thinking too much. So I got a shitty stereo and no ac,time to retire.

Well on Friday the ac blower fan would come and go. If I shut the truck of I would loose it, drive down the road a bit and it would come on, cool I thought, I'll deal with that and just not shut the truck off. So I make my first delivery and pick up of a few bins of bolts, about 6k total weight so pretty much empty in my mind. Then another driver pulls up along side of me and tells me I have no brake lights! Fuck! This is the 3rd time for this, but wait it gets better, so I put the flashers on and proceeded back to home base to off load the few hot bins I had on. Then I came up to a red light at an intersection and I literally had to stand on the brakes to get the rig stopped! WTF!!! So now I really slow down and limped the last mile to my work. Had brakes but they felt weak. Backed into a dock and as I'm walking past the trailer I hear an air leak about the middle of the trailer but I can find where it's coming from, this could explain the weak brakes, but I didn't see a pressure drop on my gages? This could all be separate conditions or related, dunno. Dropped the truck and trailer off to be repaired. Got picked up and brought back to work, figured I was done for the day, nope, they sent another driver home early and told me to drive his truck that wasbalready loaded1. Driving another man's truck is like riding his wife or fishing with his pole imo, lol. But oh well I just do what I'm told. Made for a long and frustrating day. So now I'm just gonna enjoy my weekend and not worry about if I'm gonna have a truck to drive or not come Monday, I'll deal with it then. Old trucks are a pita!

Another thought on the lack of respect in the trucking industry:

It's not just respect for drivers but also common sense. Just about every day, I see drivers do the most inconsiderate sh$t, more often OTR guys but not exclusively. For instance: a guy pulls into a lot that doesn't have a lot of room and parks right in front of all of the dock doors, WTabsoluteF! Nobody gets into or out of a dock, including the yard dog, which helps put the dock people even further behind. Or this: one place I go to frequently has an entrance/exit that's only wide enough for 2 trucks to pass. Guy gets the green light, pulls out of the dock and parks in the entrance/exit right next to another that just went into the office for his bills. Now, nobody moves until this dipsh$t gets out of the way. I've seen trucks backed up a half block down the street for this. I understand pulling into a place you've never been to and not knowing the procedure. Put yer damned rig in a place that isn't blocking everyone else from doing their job.

And it's not just in dock yards. More than once I have been in a busy truck stop waiting to get fuel. At least one driver had finished fueling and was gone inside forever, with his rig still parked in the island, they found him in the restaurant eating!

With all of the crap that can happen to make your day longer, who the hell needs help from other drivers?

Got called in on for my driving. Not suprised, the truck I was in likes to wander. Company was cool, 20 years they know I'm not a shitty driver.

I see this crap at my company all the time. I have no problem telling drivers they can't block the docks or the road, move your truck!

Because most of them don't think beyond their windows. Most drivers are nearly oblivious to what is going on around them.

Monday, what's this week going to bring? No truck or trailer as of Friday so I don't know. At least it's a little cooler.
    Have a good one drivers.
