Truck driver b.s.

Omg! Got a rental truck, had to drive an hour to get a rental trailer. Rental trucks hood kept popping open, latches wouldn't hold. Back to the rental place to get it fixed. Then go get the trailer. I started at 7:30 this morning and I'm just now picking up my first load at 12:00. But I guess it's better than working the dock! Lol. Trucks an automatic, can't get out of its own way, I need a big opening in traffic to pull out.
Tell me again why I drive Truck?

Week half done! Wow! I asked to be switched out of the shitty leaf spring Great Dane trailer into a better air ride trailer and it happened!

 

Someone had a bad day yesterday, godspeed to the little one and hope the rest of the family can make it through...

Humpday!! Work is still slow. Everything they put on my truck is hot. People are crabby, getting pretty sick of the rat race and people's b.s.
But aside from that I'm alive and working so I guess I really shouldn't bitch.

Well I'm picking up my trailer, it blew an airbag for one of the lift axles. Now they are trying to get the lift axles to work with the rental truck.
I can't win it seems. Must be a mechanical black cloud following me, lol.

 

One more then off for 3 days!

 

Check engine light is on in th fricken rental truck. I can't win. But at least I got my trailer back, then they promptly gave me a 70k load, lol.
2 more for me, don't know about Saturday yet. I won't know until just before I'm off on Friday. Sucks but that's how they do it.

 

My Friday! Pfffttt...they didn't switch trailers because I asked, they needed a lighter weight trailer to accommodate more freight weight. Now that makes sense for this place...

Well crap, tested positive for covid yesterday. I'm off for a mandatory 10 days now.

 

had some r&r this week — got dragged to downtown Nashville

 

Two days off and I really had to drag my ass back to work today. Retirement really needs to hustle it's way to me! Get in, I've got a different truck, yay! Volvo instead of the regular Freightliner, so all of the controls are different, constantly looking for switches that I otherwise just reach for. The rollup door on the trailer that's loaded for me is missing the bottom 2 rollers and one just below the top on the left side is nearly broken off. Can't get it fixed before heading out. Twelve deliveries and five pickups to deal with the damned door, wrote it up again (wrote it up about 2 weeks ago).

So, it's Fri night. Two days and then back to it...

Was pretty sweet — we started at Kid Rocks, went to Coyote Ugly, Whiskey Row, and finally back to Wild Beaver. Pretty lively even for a Thursday night. Think my liver will be taking the rest of the year off.

 

The other day, this road raging woman pulls up next to me screaming that she's going to make my life a living hell. I replied back: no thanks, I'm not interested in a relationship.

 

New week, same shit. Nobody knows how to merge....
