Congrats! After 20 years of doing this, best advice I can give is patience. Anger, worry, frustration will only get you trouble.

I’m 7h in and Google tells me to go 583 miles straight. At least I’m closing in on the midpoint.

Uhg, Monday. Back to work. At least it's cooled off a bit. Be safe drivers.
Covid is better but I'm still really weak. Man it took a lot out of me, lost 15lbs.

    Looks like a Blanchard grinder.
Edit: Or maybe an index mill?

Just enough to look kinda cool.
Well, I’m no longer in a tow truck. The hours and a change of management made my split. I have a job setting up tents and whatnot for weddings but I’m wanting to get back in a truck. I ultimately would like to haul equipment but not having much experience is limiting. Any advice from you guys?

Ask around how guys like where they work, what type of driving you prefer, reg. Schedule, home nightly, that type of stuff. EVERYBODY is hiring, even low experience guy can pretty much go where they want. You really don't have to settle. I'm suprised they let you go without offering you more of what you want.

Look for a an Old Dominion hub near you. Even if you have to drive a little bit to and from work it would probably be worth it. My brother works for them and loves it. That's saying something because he's picky as fuck and hates to work.

    About to start my FRIYAY!!!
    Be safe out there drivers.
I do have to work tomorrow so FRIYAY isn't as exciting as it usually is, lol.
These companies just don't get it as far as how to retain a driver. There has been hints of putting me on an afternoon shift. If they do that I'm done here. It just won't work for me. I like to be able to have a relationship and home life with my girl.

Morning, I put an application into equipment share and reached out to a few other companies. I want to stay away from the big freight lines, I enjoy local routes and working for smaller companies. Being 21 is looking to be the biggest problem otherwise I’d go to another tow company.

I'm the same way, I won't work for the big companies or the ones that are hiring all the time, there's a reason for that.

Went to grab this hooklift bin the other day from a local wastewater treatment plant (I work for my local municipality). That black stuff is raw sludge……..except it’s supposed to be completely dried, almost like fertilizer, before being loaded into the bin. Operators onsite didn’t know their machine to dry the sludge malfunctioned, so when I went to load the bin on my truck, 3 yards came out the back end. Ended up spending 45 minutes shoveling it into an empty bin because nobody was around the help.
