It come and goes… Company knows, they don’t care so I don’t either. I think it’s something with emissions. It’s a water truck, 2008 with 52k miles. It has a hard life.

Enjoying my Sunday down time. Haven't done shit outside but I slept in, had coffee in bed with my girl and a couple kitties. Ordered some stuff from Amazon and a new water filter. My girl cut my hair. Gonna go out and clean the grill and get it ready for tonight, grilling some Buffalo burgers. Man after last week I really need this down time. The older I get the longer it takes me to recover from long days and overtime. The money's nice but I really don't like working more than 9 or 10 hours a day and definitely not 6 days.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Last week was really flat in my area. Only 1 day was over 8 hrs. That will change this week as one guy had knee replacement surgery on Fri, and 2 guys have surgery this week. None of the three are expected back before 12/1.

Couldn't get the hitch to release, had to swap with the other driver. Remember the pics of the disgusting truck? Yeah, that one.

    Morning,
Sounds lovely, I’m guna try and clean up my truck today. Interior is covered in dust and has the cigarette smell if I run the A/C too long.

Saturday I was making many runs off hot parts on my truck. On the last run there was a major accident and it totally closed off the main road I was on, they detoured the traffic through a residential Detroit neighborhood (also known as the hood) I couldn't make the turn and went up the curb and the totally flattened a garbage can with the garbage in it. Effin funny actually! This great big angry black woman with no bra came out on the porch and was giving me some chin music with those big Ole angry boobs swaying everywhere, lol. I made a gesture that I can't hear you and drove on because there was a line of cars behind me and I had hot parts on the truck. I was lmfao as I drove away. So I forgot all about that until my boss called and asked me if I had a incident on Saturday, again lmfao. Yup I sure did, ran over a residential garbage can. Apparently miss angry boobs called the company, so what fire me, lmfao.

It's a city of Detroit residential trash pick up can. The city provides them. You wheel it out to the street and then a collection truck comes and picks it up with a hydraulic arm. Trash men dont lift cans anymore.

So, yesterday I had an incident...I'm sitting at an intersection, waiting to turn left. There are 2 lanes heading westbound (from my left) and one heading east. I wait and wait, finally have a break in traffic after this F-150 coming from my right...no turn signal. As he is about to go past me, I start rolling into the intersection to drop in behind him. When I get about halfway across the first westbound lane, the fool starts turning left! I brake to make sure he gets by me and I don't hit him, make my turn, and look in my mirror. Drama queen missed the corner and is halfway over the curb, into the grass, door open, standing on his running board with his hands up like WTF. Seems to me he panicked and target fixated, thinking he couldn't make the turn. If he would have just looked through the turn he'd have made it.

I turn around in the next business parking lot and return to the yard of the business on the corner and park. He's still halfway out into the intersection, slowing everyone down. I said I'd swear he didn't have his turn signal on or I wouldn't have moved. He swears he had it on. I said that I'm sure the company will pull the video off the dash cam to jump my shit if I fucked-up. He agrees there's no damage to his truck unless the alignment got knocked off (Really? He hit the curb at about 10 mph. Whatever). I start an accident report, get his info, and he goes on his way.

I call corporate, per protocol, and they want a police report. I call and an officer shows up. She wants to talk to him or no report. She calls and he comes back, only lives less than a mile from there. Once he starts talking to the officer, I hear him tell her that he doesn't think he had his signal on...his bad. Funny how his story changed after he found out I had a dash cam. No blood no foul, right? Except now I have an accident on my record. Ass!

Fast forward to today...I run into a former co-worker, who witnessed the whole thing and will give a statement that the guy did NOT have his signal on. I feel vindicated, but I still have a blemish on my record.

Set me back an hour and a quarter on my pickups. Since I really didn't need any shit about then, my first pickup decided to be an unreasonable ass, having 6 more pallets than he called in, which I don't have room for. We come to an agreement which 6 pallets would wait to go today. The rest of the day was uneventful, thank goodness!

About the only good yesterday was that the retina specialist says my eyes look great, vision is back to 20/15 and I can cut back to 1 eye drop per day for the next 2 months, then maybe none...

This has been going on for more than a year. The thought of having my vision wrecked was not good. Apparently this is a known passible side effect of Lasic, swelling of the retinas.

Enough of my shit for a while...

Hope the rest of everyone's week goes well!

Today, oddball thing happened. I'm in town, have to back into this place to make my delivery as the parking lot is too small/too many cars to turn around. As I'm backing into the lot, I see a turkey standing on one leg inside a bus stop shelter! Damned thing just looks at me and chatters away. Eventually, it just walks away, still chattering...

The guy that helps me unload says the turkey goes in there several times a week.

Things like this keep me considering getting a few dash cams. Could have easily been worse I guess.
