Working on a Saturday, I'll take that money thank you. But hauling heavy loads in the hood. Got my doors blown off by 2 drag racers this morning, one on each side of me, never even saw them coming. I watched them weaving in and out of traffic in front of me and was amazed there wasn't carnage. A day in the life of a Detroit trucker.

I hauled explosives across the US for about 14 years. Only got 1 ticket and in 1 wreck that wasn't my fault. Loved being on the road, and working on the trucks. No longer in that industry, and still miss it to this day. You would be amazed at what is transported across our nation and know one knows what's underneath those tarps. Be safe out there and keep your brakes adjusted brother.

They got me for a tire with low tread... and the craziest thing...

The turnout from the wood is a sharp left turn... like 50 degrees. So... it popped my pigtail out the connector by like a 1/2 inch... just enough to lose contact. When he did the walk-around my trailer lights weren't operating. Took like 2 seconds to figure out the issue.

He stated he had to list it as an OOS violation... but since I "repaired" it he wouldn't have to shut me down. How nice of him.

I did get 2 brand new drives installed though.:D

Tread rule is 2mm on the non-steering wheels, 4mm on steering? Did I remember that right?

Couple days of good rain have washed the road into the woods completely out. Gotta get a tow from the Skidder man.

Needed new brake chambers on front drive axle, slow leak.
Brought it to Montgomery TA, which was right around the corner from where I picked up.
    Pulled me right in, awesome!
They start messing around for a bit then nothing.
    I'm a really patient person.....
2 hours go by and nothing has happened?!
I go to front desk and ask...
Apparently they need a certain tool which some other tech has and he will be in later.

Now mind you I'm still a newbie.

So I sit back relax and watch a movie for 2.5 hours.
I start getting a bit antsy after and decided to see what this magical tool they need is.
I can't find anything but I did learn how to remove and replace the brake chamber, it's very simple.

I'm going to say that again, IT'S VERY SIMPLE.

So I go back in with the screw you put in it to open the brake chamber on account it's the only tool I could come up with that they might not have, even though it's a truck stop shop... You would think they have every tool to do every job (sorry my common sense is getting in the way here)

    They said that's not it.
I said ok and walked away thinking that maybe there's more to it than what I learned.

    That's a big fucking NEGATIVE!

Turns out the lazy pieces of shit were waiting for some 2 piece attachment for the air gun!

I found this out 12 fucking hours later after the tech finished and I asked what this magical tool was!

Apparently the fucking lazy pieces of shit didn't want to do it old school with a fucking ratchet!

Well I learned a few lessons off of it at least.
The biggest lesson I learned was to learn how to do it yourself.

Until you've had to get service work at the Bloomsbury,NJ TA... I don't wanna here about ineptitude.

I spent 4 days there with a blown turbo. Ordered 3 wrong ones before the right one. Motel I stayed in was an exit up and had to check out every day per company policy, pack up, take a taxi back and wait until they told me it wasn't ready yet... then repeat.

Didn't know there was that many turbo variations to the Cummins ISX until that event.

Can someone explain to me why a trucker will tey yo run me.off the road in PA when im just in the slow lane going the speed limit? I speed up to get away, he speeds up. I just stay in my lane and the dude is on my ass, literally. I had to pull off an exit and wait a while. Drives me nuts. Its not like i cant be passed. Im always giving big rigs flashes if im in the fast lane and i see one w his blinker on to get over and pass the person in front of them. Is there some other appriciated courtesy i can do? Are are 90 percent of the truckers on 80 in PA assholes? Last time someone followed me to a truck stop, they saw me get out of my truck and they sped off. Im not exactly small or friendly looking, especially in thoae situations. Push far enough, youll get thumped.
