and its assholes like you that make insurance costs so insanely high and insurance companies so stingy when paying out. GTFOutta here with that sue everybody mentality.... OP Is in good spirits and is getting treated well by insurance companies on their own

OP, thats slider took a GOOD hit. I might check where it attaches to the frame for any tweaks, but it looks like the slider saved the truck from being totaled (and you!)

i didn’t mention suing upfront. i approve injury claims just based on photos. if someone is simply repped by an attorney, they can get even more money even if no suit was filed.

always good to have an attorney in retainer or at least have one as a friend. it does need to be worthwhile for the attorney but you are absolutely wrong to state when an attorney will or won’t take a case. you have no idea. it really depends on the state and what insurance coverages are available in that state. in some states it’s more worthwhile to sue for bi than other states.

i work for an insurance company. i own a ton of stock in my company. my comments are to protect those who are not at fault in an accident and to think long term for injuries. fraud is one of the main factors as to why insurance costs so much. i’m not talking about fraud.

Where’s the little emoji dude with the popcorn?

Anyways. Some would say it’s terrible timing, or ironic, or maybe even serendipitous.

Either way, glad all is well OP, seems like insurance will pay off.

Yeah I see what you're saying cromag, appreciate the insight I'm pretty ignorant of all that stuff. Luckily the hit was pretty minimal and I'd have to be lying through my teeth to try to claim the potential of an injury, I've had bigger jolts just offroading.

What I was really looking for was less hassle and to be able to maintain my work schedule which the insurance handled pretty well. They put me in a rental, 2019 Tacoma lol. I still miss my truck though.

Sliders very well could have saved I from being totaled. Approx. speed of both parties?

This is my truck after a similar collision but without sliders. I'm turning @ 15-25 MPH and the dude that hit me was doing at least 35. ( 00' accord flipped me 90 deg )

As for the 2019 I'm renting vs my 2011, most things aren't too different from what I can tell. It does seem like the 2019 accelerates quicker but also seems to pause in-between gear shifts a little more than my 2011. Also, the 2019 is an OR but not 4wd, I spent about 10 minutes in the truck trying to find the switch to turn on 4wd, all the while saying to myself "it has on off-road sticker on the side, its gotta have the 4wd switch in here somewhere..." I do the like the interior of the 2019 a bit better, Its all black which I prefer and seems a bit more spacious. I can't really give a comparison of much else since upgrades on my 2011 don't relate to the stock 2019.
