The guy that stole my car had stabbed his girlfriend several times in the chest and neck. He drove east to a nearby town and stole a delivery truck. He then drove the delivery truck about 30 miles west and dumped the delivery truck.

He then hoofed it about 16 miles back east through the country and hid out in an empty house next door to mine.

My wife pulled in the driveway and left the car running while she ran in the house before heading to work. He snatched her car and took off. We lived mid state illinois.

Our car was recovered about two weeks later outside of Ft. Campbell. He had run out of gas. The police waited and he came walking back to the car with gas cans.

Receipts in the car showed that he had driven the car all the way to southern Alabama and then headed back north.

He is supposed to be responsible for reimbursing our deductible. Ill not hold my breath. Im not sure when he gets out of prison.

Sorry about the truck man! I hate thieves, having fallen victim to them several times. Whether it be cars, house, personal things, etc. Really a bad feeling. Hope you catch the sob and get some of your stuff back.

I'm going to start stamping my stuff. If you put a serial number on coils, bumpers, or anything else, the police can add a serial number to it. Even if it's stamped "1," it'll be that much easier to prove it's yours.
