Truck has distinct smell going uphill

    YES! The parts recommendation is "If you aren't getting a po420 code (catylist efficiency low) code then don't worry about it."

    Seriously, this is normal, especially if you drive around like an old lady most of the time. Or say, you only have 1 hill on your commute where the truck is actually working hard. You don't need to do anything unless you start throwing a code or get a driveability problem. If you really want to dump a grand or so on new cats, just pick a TW member at random and send them the cash- it'll be just as effective for 'fixing' your problem.

    I have never noticed the smog guy on his belly crawling under the vehicle looking for CARB stamps. He plugs his smog computer into the vehicle's OBD port and 5 minutes later I am driving home. I would buy the 49 state version just as my way of trying to get back at the state.
    RESIST!
