    I can smell that video.

I did steep rocky trails a lot with my 2.7 4x4 manual out in the desert and took the original clutch out to 200K.

Learn not to ride the clutch EVER and when off road use your drive line to it's maximum mechanical advantage where possible (4-Lo on steep rocky scrambles).

I learned especially from that little engine that there's a line between revving out for power and switching to granny low in order to protect parts. I can't imagine it's much different for the 3.5.

If the dealership won't cover it (which I'm sure they won't because the clutch is a wear item), do not have the dealership replace it unless you have a few grand $$$ lying around to throw at it. Toyota wanted nearly $4k to do a clutch on my 04, I can only imagine what they'd charge on a more modern vehicle.

A local independent shop or trans shop should be able to do it for a lot less. Still going to be about a grand though, parts and labor included. Clutch parts are cheap but the labor is intensive.

Learn how to drive first in all off road conditions. When you feel the truck is stuggling and you have to slip the clutch a little bit this is an indication of being in the wrong gear or not in 4WD Low.

No aftermarket clutch can prevent a bad driver from burnining out his clutch.

Stick with OEM and OP needs more experience how to drive in off road conditions.

Could be worse...glad it's a wear item. At least now you know the clutch limits, lol.

I came from a 2014 WRX. That car lives on slipping the clutch. So especially with the accumulator - my MT was tough at first..........MODS? Sure - you gotta do the ADM, 2LO mods as well. Regear, tune. Next for me in the drive train will be the Stage 2 clutch.

Totally fried yer clutch there if you were riding it.
Go slow in 4Lo. You don't need the clutch at all.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
There's no warranty for operator error.

Nothing against OP. Just a lesson learned. No biggie. Next time you'll know.

Also again 4_lo that sucker. Foot all the way off the gas then let the clutch out. Plenty of low and and no slipping. 95% of the trail stuff is 2nd gear. I would have started. 2nd lo on that and staying in it most of time.

Glad to see you're having fun OP!

I could be wrong but I doubt you fried a brand new clutch in like 30 seconds.

What I mean is, this probably isn't the only video of you doing this, just the last one right?

If that's the case, get good at driving it around on the street before you take it off roading. Slipping the clutch, riding it, dumping it... all bad things.

I would guess its not the first time OP was riding his clutch.

When riding the clutch in 4hi, it causes double the wear on the clutch. 2 more wheels to drive.
