What type truck jacks do you carry besides the OEM one.
I had a flat and had to change the tire for the first time and the OEM jack was a pain to use. Just curious

I only carry the OEM jack. Aside from that, I carry a patch kit. Carrying a heavy jack around for a "what if" moment, doesn't seem worthwhile to me.

    What’s wrong with OEM jack?

I did up size my tires to 265/70/17 so it may be my fault, I tried jacking up the truck and it seemed like it wouldn’t go any higher and the tire was still touching the ground. So I had to lower the jack and put about 3 inches of wood under the jack to make it work. Plus it takes for ever to use the jack you can only get about half of a turn each time you turn it. But at the end of the day it did work.

Half a turn at a time? You’re putting the hook end in hole thingy on the jack itself then using the tire iron as a crank, right? With all the other links in between? That makes for fast work IME.

Going up in tire size you should expect the jack to need some help, it was chosen based on stock size/height for everything.

Did you try to lift it off the frame-rail? The suspension will just sag if you do that

If lifting the rear, put the jack under the axle. If lifting the front put it under the lower control arm as close to the wheel as possible

Bought my Tacoma 2013, 3 weeks ago and still haven't found the jack. Where is it located? Under the back seats?

I’ve only used the oem jack once when I was belly down on a 8’ pile of mud. I was able to combine it with the rocks and wood and rocks I could find in the area to get myself home. It’s fine in a pinch.

I carry 6 pieces of 2x8 about a foot long. Had some left over from building a deck. Been able to get it jacked up in a ton of shit environments.

I use a 3rd gen 4Runner OEM jack with various accessories, doesn't weigh much or take up much space: https://www.tacomaworld.com/posts/29027731
