When I come to a full stop abruptly mainly all of a sudden then push on the accelerator to go, the truck literally jolts forward as if I’m flooring it skipping a couple gears. Don’t know what it could be. I did a full transmission flush and levels are normal and everything. I even changed out the filter. Don’t know what it could be or if it’s related to it? This doesn’t happen often but when it does, it feels very dangerous as i have to instantly slam the breaks. I have an automatic 07 trd sport.

I have an 07 trd sport. 123k miles. I actually did do a drain and fill. Not a full flush my bad . I checked it by filling it only until there is a small trickle coming out.

It’s gotta be between 95 and 115 degrees Fahrenheit. It should be trickling out with the engine running.

Easiest method is to overfill the transmission, idle the truck, then remove the plug until it’s trickling.

Another way without checking temp is to drain into a pan, let it cool down, then measure how much came out. Then put the same amount back in. Obviously this won’t work for you because you’re past this point but just for future reference if anyone is trying to complete this service.

Try easing the clutch out smoothly, instead of dumping it.

maybe you need to reset the transmission shift point learned values. it probably got used to having a bunch of sludge in there.

I just got back from autozone with a code that read P2714. Could that be related to the problem I’m having? Or completely different?

Could be, it’s a transmission solenoid code. Did you do the fill properly like described in the link? If not you don’t know whether you have too much or too little fluid in the transmission.

Question, was the engine running (idling) when it was trickling out? Or was the engine off?

if the engine was off, you are most likely WAY under filled

Engine was off. I’ll be adding some first thing in the morning after checking temps. From what I’m reading around and the thread that was posted here about 15 mins idle is close to the right temp?? If not I’ll see if my scanner can read temps as well.

    That’s your problem for sure.

it will trickle out way before it’s at the right level when the engine is off.

I would put another 3 quarts in at least, start it up and let it idle to the right temp, then pull the overflow plug.

hopefully a lot will come out, if it does, wait until it trickles.

if nothing comes out, you need to add more fluid

I got it straight from the dealer. I only have 1 full bottle left so I would have to purchase more from what it seems like.

The resident transmission guru says, “a fast trickle is better than a slow trickle.”
