Recently installed a belt on my 2008 Pre Runner and every time I start her up it sounds like she chokes a little and starts squeaking. Im in no way some genius mech but I am learning how to work on my own vehicles to keep them running. Any idea what could possibly be going on?

Squeaking would point toward a pulley bearing... they get old and dry out and squeak.

As many as I can fabricate
Make sure it's the correct belt. There are probably 5 pulleys that could be the culprit or just a loud belt. I'd give it a few days to get broke in....or broke..lol. Kidding. Good luck

Welcome aboard. Belt squeal on start up indicates a loose belt. You shouldn't be able to twist the belt between your fingers more than 90 degrees at midpoint between the pulleys.
