    TRD skid painted black,
You have to keep it on some kind of isolator th allow it to move.

After my son's 02 had the cat stolen I made a sheetmetal piece to go across the frame rails and kind of like a thin skid plate.
Enough to make it less desireable one to hit.
I put one on my 09 prerunner as well.
It takes a bit of time to figure out where and how to make and mount but worth it to me.

I have real skids on my 10 4X4.
Make it tougher and they will find an easier one.

Well my little $12 fuck-you project is almost done.

Went to Home Depot and found two of the biggest old school spring type mouse traps. Took them home, roughed up the swing wire and epoxied 6 tacks each to them. I found magnetic cabinet stays and screwed those into the ends of the wooden bases. Rattle canned the whole thing flat black.

I also got some of that really sticky glue board for catching pests. I'm going to cut strips of that and put it in front of the catch on the trap. Idea being if a finger misses the catch it'll get stuck on the gluestrip and trip the trap when its jostled around.

One trap goes on the inboard side of the driver's side cat. The other will go ontop of the crossmember below the passenger's side cat.

So...does anyone know if the front two cats are supposed to have heatshields on them? Mine didn't have any...

if im not mistaken those cats get really freakin hot like 500*+ so im thinkin that the mouse trap may or may not catch on fire if you drive with it on there...

Get a 2 way alarm, Wouldn't hurt to install REALLY bright motion lights infront of your house of both sides of your truck.

Instead of a normal car alarm siren get the audio from a porn scene and have it play super loud! People will stare for sure!

If you go the alarm route:

Find a good quality "AIR RAID siren" sound, then set it to a very high volume, ensuring the thief and your neighbors hear it. Talk about a sound that will really get everyone's attention :p

Best part being some people [namely vets] will come out guns drawn thinking the war has just begun, and it has...

get ahold of an old arc welder. clamp the ground to your trailer hitch or some other bareish metal. Leave the other line on the ground and set up a hose so it trickes out. Next pour about 1lb of rock salt on the ground. If anyone touched bare metal on your truck they will get a good lift. An electric fence with the same idea might be a little safer as its lower current though.

Dont do anything to piss off the people. Some guy in my complex put up a note stating that he caught two guys breaking into his car, he chased them off and said to be careful, put up a discription and called the cops. Well a couple days later there was another note saying all tires are flat and watch out cause someone was pissed off for the wrong reason, he called the cops again and now i see the cops everyday in our lot. so be careful about what you do they might target your truck for even worse stuff and f the whole truck. call the cops and report and they will step up the patrols.

Yea, we (the neighborhood) caught a thief stealing out of neighbors garage. We all stood outside as the cops arrested one guy and told the driver of a "borrowed" car to walk home.
For the next 3 or 4 months had kids on scooters riding around with loud exhaust, car alarms, air horns, and fireworks coming up our street over and over at 2am to 5am.
    Probably someone's "cousins".

I stood out (a few houses down for my protection) and took flash photography of them and they stopped. But they could have come back worse. Of course no pictures would come out taking photos at night on a moving target... but they could see the flash and get worried.

Nothing like waking up to a 3 minute roll of fire crackers 8-10 times a week.

A guy was banging on my window in a parking lot of a crowded wing spot I acted like I didn't own the car as I was walking by asked him what he was doing as he also had two friends standing behind my taco he lied and said he wasn't doing nothing I sucker punched his ass knocked him out first try right in front of his buddies then proceeded to pull down my zipper and I pissed all over his face. The thieves friends pussed out as soon as he knocked out they ran to a truck I got in mine and chased them all over hell, Im sure they shit themselves. A week later three guys matching that discription landed themselves in jail for stealing a car. Send the last real good message give em a good ol fashioned ass beating for anyone who's had something stolen.

Good news! Got a Viper 3303 2-way security system going in the truck on Wednesday :) I'm pretty excited about it. It comes with a hood pin, I added battery backup, and I will purchase a perimeter sensor and install that myself.

So huge spiked mousetraps and 2:30/5AM walks out the door until then
