    Hey guys.

Im looking into the 17 TRD OR DCSB, manual transmission. They seem to be pretty rare .. Any idea how long it would take to have one built? Not many dealers have the exact truck I want. Either wrong color or not the manual transmission.

I was lucky enough to have my dealer find one that was set to be build and delivered within a month, and it wasn't pre sold. So i snagged it and put a deposit on it. My dealer said they have more pull than other dealers since they're a penske dealer. Not sure how legit that is or not haha. But i had my truck in a month exactly, built to my spec with roof rack and mud guards.

Mine started as a 4-6 week wait, now to a 4 month wait. I should get mine at the end of April. The JBL option is what caused the wait, otherwise the one I test drove would've come home with me.

I am in SoCal. From the time I put the deposit it will be about 12 weeks. Was supposed to get this week, but they pushed out date until the end of April. Build date is supposably today, then 3 weeks for delivery and all that.

I got the same configuration you are after, but 2016. It took a lot of calling dealers and I finally found one out of state I could fly to to get it and drive home. I caught it when it was in the pipeline just before being built, so I only had to wait a few weeks.

I ordered mine in December and it just came in a few days ago, it was worth it to get a Manual with P&T.

You can't exactly custom order one per se so there's no standard wait time. What it comes down to is how far out a similarly equipped truck is allocated to be delivered to your dealership. Dealerships can put in requests to have a build altered after it has been allocated but before it has been built. That being said I'm not sure where they draw the line. You probably can't request an SR5 be changed into a TRD Pro and you probably can't request an auto be changed to a manual. If I had to guess, you can't change the model number - as in 7545 (TRD OR 6MT). What I know you can change is the options. It's also worth noting that dealerships can trade allocations.

For me personally it took 3 weeks from the day I put down $500 to the day I drove it home. I was lucky though... they already had an MGM 7545 allocated to them and being built soon. My request to change up the options was accepted in 1 day and I had the truck exactly as I asked for 3 weeks later.

Seconding @Doggman...actually third'ing since Smitty got there too.

Check out this thread for some research: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ption-costs-master-list.388345/#post-10668071

Find you a high volume dealer who actually wants to deal. You should have about 8 weeks after Toyota "accepts" the build or allocation request (depending on your location and options). Dealers with more volume will tend to have more allocations. Actually - follow the steps here after you've armed yourself with some information from the thread I linked above: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/so-you-want-to-buy-a-tacoma.475482/

Mine took two months until the build date and then another three weeks or so until delivery.

    According to my local dealers
It takes about 6 months. Gulf States region doesn't get manual transmission trucks. If you want one here, you order it and it comes from a different assembly plant. I don't know if this is true, but that's what I was told by 2 local dealers.

I searched for what I wanted and found one 8 hours away. Did the whole deal over the phone and it was delivered to my house last Friday.

I usually order my vehicles from my local dealer and it takes about 8 weeks on average. This go round I lucked out after placing my order - while searching online, found the exact one on a dealer lot 86 miles away and with only 3 miles on the ODO. Was worth the drive.

You can put your mind to ease over your wish as you cannot get JBL with a Manual for some strange reason.
