so I just moved my truck about 20 ft I'd say into my driveway and I shifted from drive to park and after letting off the brake the truck revved up to about 1800-2000 rpm from 1000 and was constantly revving for a while and I put it in reverse for a second to see what would happen and it dropped back to 1000. I'm already going to the dealer tomorrow to get my ATF fluid checked and I'm gonna insist they manually check it but is there anything else that could be causing this cause I'm not sure if there is low fluid in my ATF reservoir yet or not.

Is the truck warmed up? If not this is completely normal. During the cold start cycle the truck will have a high idle.

Appreciate it I started getting paranoid the other day when I read up on how the transmission fluid being low in some of the new tacos is causing problems. Thanks

Coming on here just to read up on peoples problems is like going to WebMD when you have a cold. You'll be convinced you've got Polio or TB.

It's official, the 3rd Gen is a dog. When I take my dog to the park, it goes apeshit.

    Okay, I'm leaving ...

Normal. I usually let mine warm up just enough for the rpms to drop, then shift to D. It only takes a minute or so depending on how cold it is.
