Sweers and Toyota should have designed the head unit so default was full volume rather than minimum volume when turning on the truck. The reviews would have been more favourable.

@MESO has a volume up allthetime mod for that...

^^^ Somehow your thoughts are inside my quote now, but I get it. MT4Lyfe

MTs still need to crank the volume mind you. It’ll help with the rattling going over speed bumps and the squeaky clutch pedal.

I agree. Also when I run the trails at 75mph I don’t seem to notice any issues either because I’m watching for deer

    Somewhat opposite experience here.

I am usually on the road before 5am Monday through Saturday, and my morning ritual includes driving with the dash lights turned to the lowest setting, head unit display off, and no radio.

Most of the time all the windows are shut.

I usually have the road to myself for the most part, drive conservatively, and my AT truck shifts smoothly and runs really quiet.

Really not sure what happened, but since my 10/15 TX built truck runs so well, the only possible explanation I can think of is that Akio Toyoda was visiting the factory that day, so management had the "A" team working on my truck.

No other idea I can think of, since my truck is practically flawless.

But at least the rest if you have the loud radio solution.

And @Stocklocker , another thread that is a cut above- nice!

    Cheers

If it wasn’t for my radio, I would of put the truck into a tree or another dealership by now :anonymous:

I dunno, my volume knob must be broken. I can't seem to turn my radio loud enough to drown out the screaming and whining from the passengers seat at certain speeds on certain trails...

Yes this is a design feature Toyota copied from my 1968 Rambler Rebel. In the early 80’s I did the FM radio mod, (AM was stock), and not only did the 3 speed auto shift better, but I got a huge power boost, more tire clearance (bias ply’s rocked the corners) and the oil change intervals were much better. Oh, and my high school girlfriends showed their appreciation as well.
