Take the battery home with him. No thief will bring a battery to start the truck.

How far away is the nearest self-storage place? I'd rent a spot there to leave the ute during the day and then the truck at night.

Barring that, enquire with a neighbor near the main road, see if they're willing to rent space on their property to store a vehicle.

Get a good Alarm/remote start combo and get the added module to connect to your phone. You’ll get notifications if the alarm is going off, started, etc. plus you can pay extra and get the GOS tracking Incase it’s stolen or you want to monitor the location. Also some insurance companies will give you a discount

I’ve been happy with my Clifford alarm. You have to enter a code every time after you start it or open and close the door. So use your imagination. If I’m told to get out at gun point, I get out, they get in and drive away. Very shortly after the alarm chirps, then blows, then kills the engine. Even if they manage to break in, get it started, they don’t get far.

I worked in bad neighborhood of DC at night in the 80’s for a printing company.
My boss had brackets welded to all three
Pedals (clutch, brake, gas). We wrapped the back of all three pedals a heavy chain and pad locked it. It was a pain in the ass To put the chain on but we never a truck stolen and we never left anything in the truck cabs or locked the doors so Thieves wouldn’t break the windows.

At work, they installed something similar to my work truck. It kept my Clifford alarm from working so I immediately removed it.

No shoes Nation thats what I'm curious of. How dark is it?

The company I work for has cameras that are mounted to the rear view mirror that has a forward and rearward camera. Even when the vehicle is turned off the camera can still be triggered and start recording and then when it starts recording it alerts our company. Might be something to check into. I can find out the name of it tomorrow
