My truck shakes while coasting in neural at around 40 mph. It also does it at high speeds as well. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t shake, but when it does it feels like my truck is going to fall apart! I recently had my third member rebuilt and have replaced my tie rods, ball joints, rack in pinion, upper and lower arm bushings and sway bar bushings. My tires are new and wheels are balanced . Could this be a driveshaft issue, or motor/ transmission mount issue? Any advice will help.

Does it shake while parked and you rev the motor? That should help with the motor mount question.

No, it idles a little high but doesn’t shake.

    Pretty much stock right now
Sounds like it is only an issue while moving. Last time I had that happen (2000 Tacoma) it was a wheel balancing issue. New tires on the front were not balanced correctly.

Did you get a realignment? With all those suspension and steering components replace....you should make B line to a alignment shop to get everything back in order.

@CD20H I had an alignment done after I did the work on the front end. @ghs57 The wheels were balanced recently...

This all started happening when I reinstalled my axles and third member...

Did you mark your drive shaft and put it back on in the same spot? Kinda a long shot but maybe it’s out of phase

@Your-10Ply-Bud It does shake in neutral while driving, and is intermittent. I did mark it but I sent the third member in to a shop and they painted it, my marking was gone when I got it back.

@Your-10Ply-Bud you know, I didn’t mark the slip on the driveshaft... I think you’re right.

Then I’d probably rotate it and take it for a drive and see if it’s any better. May take a couple rotations but a fairly easy thing to try.

@Your-10Ply-Bud So, I tried every position possible, to no avail. There is a slight play in the driveshaft, coming out of the transfer case. When I say slight, I mean next to nothing, no leaks coming from the seal either. I have checked all the work I did to the front end, and nothing is loose. I think I'm going to bring it back to a shop and have the alignment and wheel balance checked again. Maybe something got shifted. Hopefully that solves the problem. I appreciate the advice man, David.

Yea like ghs57 said above its possible the wheel balance may be off. I've had my truck shake pretty bad at 95-100km/h and only in that range. I wouldn't worry too much about the play in the shaft either, if its almost non-existent and nothings leaking it really shouldn't be an issue. Good luck man, hope the balancing solves the issue

@Your-10Ply-Bud Found out the shaking was caused by a bad wheel bearing on the front driver side. I took it apart and and sent it to a machine shop to get new bearing pressed in. Should have done this when I replaced the ball joints and tie rods, for preventive maintenance, oh well. I'll be up and running in no time. Thanks for all the help!
