I got my 2017 TacomaSr5 a couple weeks ago the truck has 160k on it. I was driving for less than ten minutes this morning when I was pulling up to a light it flashed a transmission temp overheating warning and completely shut off. It started right back up and drove to a nearby parking lot with no issues. I’m going to read the codes shortly but I suspect that won’t show anything as there are no lights on the dash anymore.

any help would be much appreciated thank you.

Might wanna check the spelling on the thread title. Legit thought i was about to read how you hit 88mph and :burnrubber:

As for a trans temp light, id check trans fluid. Quite a few 3rd gens left the factory with underfilled trans fluid. With yours having 160k on it, id do it sooner than later.
