So if there's no codes, you may need to scan the ABS module to see whats happening, the ECU may be cutting out and the slip indicator is coming on to warn of such.

Start with the usual, check the battery and see what voltage the alternator is outputing. Ive seen alternators overcharge and the ecu shuts down.

Wild. I have a 2017 PRO and my truck wouldnt start this morning and the ABS sensor was going off. I got a jump but im afraid my battery has died. Unless someone else can chime in. It sounded like the ABS was going off but the engine wouldnt start.

I reset the ECU (Pulled Neg.Cable for 15+mins then reconnected) let stand for a bit, then took a 30mile trip.
    No Issues, So Far :fingerscrossed:..

Had you done any work to the truck before this started happening? If so, recheck your work and anything you may have disconnected.

When the truck dies; does everything else still work? If so, then I'd be looking at grounds on the motor and ECU. The ECU switches ground to fire the injectors.

Anything particular, common, similar things happening when the truck dies? Anything... Turning, hitting a bump, headlights on, fan, AC, puddle....

Just throwing some things out there. This is a weird one.

    Good luck.

Did the 3½hr ECU Reset, no problems as of yet, been driven 75mi..
Changed plugs @ month+ ago, seem like a problem from that would have shown
much sooner, nothing else other than reg. maintenance.
    Will Update.

    Thanks for your response(s).

I have a scangauge. However, I've since upgraded to a Bluetooth obd scanner and use the torque app. It gives live data through gauges that you make. One gauge style is a graph. It helped me track down a p0420 code at one time.

So is it all good now?
Reading the repair pal info says to connect positive and negative cables without the battery.
I’ve never done this it must help the computer to forget stuff?
Probably just kills the pc battery to forget stored codes quickly?
    Anyone else ever do this?

I fear my ECU has bit the dust.
Will not reset & ScanGuageII reads 'Connecting' constantly.
    Any Thoughts Ideas??

Oh boy... Disconnecting the battery for a length of time and shorting the battery cables together are essentially the same thing. You're discharging capacitors that are keeping things alive for a few after the battery is disconnected. Seeing how you've already done this in one form or another, time to move on and look elsewhere imo.

Don't overthink this. And don't throw $$ at it hoping to fix it. It can get expensive very fast. If you going to spend any money on this, right now I think it should be spent on tools in order to diagnose the issue properly imo. Go to home cheapo and pick up a Klein multimeter. They're of decent quality and will serve you well. And, seriously, the scangauge is nice, but I don't think it's the right tool for troubleshooting this issue.

Have you gone around checking grounds around the ECU and engine, fuses and such?

The ECU is a pretty robust piece of electronics. You don't see those crapping out to often.

Be patient, methodical, paying attention to detail, and you'll find it. Because to me, this sounds to be more of detail problem (easy, inexpensive) compared to a basic (ECU issue).

    Good luck!

Good call Larry, OP check the grounds, take apart and clean and reinstall , could be a free fix.

Where is the ECM/PCM physically located???
I've never actually seen them, other than electronically, via scanguage, scantool or HPTuners/Laptop..

Also, can this truck be 'Flat-Towed' with both driveshafts removed???

    Thanks.

    To anyone following.
I ran a scan with the 'Fcar Scantool' no codes, however
while idling the 'Slip Indicator' came on, the truck didn't stall or throw any codes.
I turned the engine off when I cranked it back up no 'Slip Indicator'.
