It has been sitting about 4 years. I drained all the old gas and put 5 gallons of Exxon 93, and about 1/3 a bottle of Sea Foam. The truck fires right up, but only will run about 5 seconds. it idles and revs perfect for about 2-3 seconds then starts spitting and sputtering then dies out. Any ideas????

New plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter and fresh gas already.

    ***updated Info***

Ok, fuel filter is in the correct direction of flow...

I pulled the big line off the bottom of the fuel pressure regulator, and no fuel come out. I turn the key on, and still no fuel, I start the truck and still no fuel comes out. I took the regulator off and cranked the engine over... fuel everywhere...

Is it possible that the pump is not delivering enough fuel for the truck to stay running let alone for the regulator to bleed out the excess???

If the regulator is stuck closed, wouldn't the truck still run, just really rich?

I pulled a spark plug and its black, but not wet at all, so I don't think its flooding or super rich either.

    and More...

Fuel pressure is about 20 psi with the key on, and when running drops to about 15-18 before it dies out...

So I bit the bullet and ordered a fuel pump and pressure regulator. I am just hoping to God that fixes it.

You can remove the hose off of the pressure regulator to see if it is working. Just have a catch can ready

It will tell you if the pump is pumping.

I remember you were also having vacuum line issues. Did you get them resolved also?

This may be a stupid question but is the fuel filter pointing in the right direction?
