My 2001 Tacoma starts but won’t keep running after about 1-2 seconds. Can’t seem to find the issue. Cleaned out my MaF sensor. New oxygen sensors. I did put in STP like 30 min before with quarter tank of gas. Just trying to see if it would work. But I ran it for 15 plus mins after. I wonder if that’s the issue. Just seems like it’s not getting fuel. The pump is working. Maybe clogged injectors? Let me know what you think???

Mine did this, only didn't run 1 minute much less 15 minutes; crank, run about 3-4 seconds and shut off. I replaced fuel filter, crank shaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor ,fuel regulator, air filter, and cleaned MAF, ... still no start. I changed the plugs, and found the back coil pack was cracked in 3 places; replaced all and cranked right up. Hope you find your issue.
The people here helped me a LOT!

the fuel pump circuit on Tacomas is "different" ... the fuel pump only receives power when the motor is turning.

looking at the wiring you will see that during cranking the circuit opening relay closes the relay via the B-W wire and power goes to the fuel pump... during normal operation G-Y closes the relay and power goes to the fuel pump. This Blue wire should be accessible under the drivers side carpet to test this theory. If power disappears at the blue wire when you release the key from crank to run follow the power path that feeds the EFI relay.

Your not getting any Codes ??

Sounds to me like the ECM is not seeing a signal and shutting off fuel to what it thinks is a non running engine .

Have you tried starting fluid to see if it runs? Just curious.

Old thread but I’m having the exact same problem. Wondering if this was ever resolved because I’m out of ideas…
