hey sorry guys, havent been on here for awhile. I DO have my truck back, its been a couple of weeks already....

to make a long story short.. they found my truck a couple of weeks after it got stolen in Portland Oregon. Person that was driving it got pulled over, police found out it was stolen, my insurance contacted me, and now i got my truck back. I didnt want the truck back but my insurance said i had to take it back since there were no damages, only high mileage... over 8000 miles racked up in the month i didnt have it.

after arguing back and forth, had to take it back. sooner or later, going to sell it.... but right now dont have no choice. i need a ride for work

they gave me some money, not enough for how long it was gone and how much mileage got racked up... bullshit!

person who stole my ride rode it everywhere, treated it like it was their own. 8000 miles is a shit load of miles in a month!!

If the guy had it that long, makes me wonder if he disabled the immobilizer chip.

Does the security light still flash when the key is out?

You know which one I'm talking about, its right next to the clock IIRC. Red flashing light, every second or so. It only does it when the key is out. If it doesn't, you need to call your insurance company back!

Damn, well - glad you got it back but I feel your pain. Funny how insurances screw you, I got my ride back after two months and lost $10k in value from the repairs. GLWS ... as I cannot sell mine and am stuck with it!

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
A friend of mine had a Camry stolen and they caught the guys (couple of months later) who stole it. The car was banged/scratched up and ragged out inside.

Insurance Company painted and cleaned it ... gave back to owner ... but that car was never the same ... transmission went out later.

So it was found with ZERO damage? Not even to the ignition lock?

Starting to sound like an inside job......someone with locksmith hookup or dealership buddies.
