    Hello all, this is my first post so don't be too harsh :) anywho, have a question about truck body lean or (not really sure what to call it). i have a '07 double cab 2wd shortbed. I've had it for 6 years now and have noticed that the front end is starting to lean forward which kind of makes it look like my truck is taking a bow. I get that it's probably the weight of the engine and me not using the bed to carry much stuff, but what I was wondering is what is this called and how do i fix it.     your front coils are beginning to sag. nothing uncommon. some bilstiens and maybe ome coils could fix that problem. ill let someone with more knowledge pop in

    Please measure the distance from the center of the hub to the fender on both sides front and rear. Then post the data. This will help tell if it is sagging and how bad.

    Once that data is provided tell us your primary use of the truck. You already stated the bed never has any weight so is your primary use just a person carrier? Do you offroad at all? What is your driving style?

    Then please state your budget for the fix. There are so many different types of suspension available it's easier to recommended something when you have the numbers to go with it.

    If your going to work on the truck ever thought about lifting the front end to make it level or lifting the entire truck? Nothing like getting more ground clearance! :D

    Front left = 20 1/4
    Front right = 20 1/4
    Rear left = 23
    Rear right = 22 1/2

    so not sagging that much i guess but visually i can see a difference

    i use my truck as personal transport. i don't offroad. i drive semi-conservative (for the most part go the speed limit, easy turns, easy braking, but on occasion will speed)

    my budget will be what will fix the leaning, i know options are available but am wondering if this is a fix i can do alone or something i need a mechanic for, granted i have no mechanic skills (i can take off tires and engine fluid checks but thats about it)

    i am not that interested in lifting, maybe only a 1-3 inches, but nothing major. mainly just want to have my truck look balanced front to back and side to side.

    Sounds like the easiest fix for you with the sagging is getting some 5100's and raising your front end just a hair. Its one of the cheaper ways to lift the truck without spending a bunch of money and since you drive conservatively and dont do much off-roading this setup will work perfect for you.

    Winch, front hitch, step bars, bed extender, bed step, gull-wing toolbox, tailgate lock, security system, cb radio, etc.
    I'm just not seeing all that much front sagging in those numbers. The rear normally sits higher then the front. Manufacturers design vehicles that way (reduces drag from the rough underside to increase gas mileage, improves handling, etc), so you'll see similar front/rear differences in brand new vehicles. The difference in pickup trucks is often even greater since manufacturers know weight will be hauled in the rear.

    Anyway, the vehicle is not sagging substantially either left or right, so I'd leave it well enough alone. If the look really bothers you, a hundred pounds of something (tools, etc) tossed into the bed should pretty much level it out. :rolleyes:

    In the meantime, look around the forum for complaints about the rear springs sagging (rear dropping, truck bottoming out on bumps, etc), reducing rear load capacity. At least you don't have that problem. :)

    this is something that i've just never had anyone to talk about, being that it's not a big deal i'll just leave it as it is, maybe eventually lift it later on. the lean is something i notice but it doesn't bother me so it's all good, thank you for all the input.
