Truck Vent controls do not change vents

I had this problem, with the air blowing out of all vents at once. The mechanism that directs the air to the vent, its like a big sliding arm on a track controlled by the servo motor. The sliding arm popped out of the track and got lodged in a little nook on the apparatus, this just so happened to open the vents in such a way that air went to every vent. hard to explain this, prob wont make sense till you look at it. I replaced the servo motor and placed the arm back into the track correctly and worked properly. HOWEVER, a few weeks later the arm again popped out of the track. I decided to just disconnect the motor and leave the arm off the track so that air comes out of all vents, I ended up liking it better that way anyway, and I don't want to have to keep reaching down there to place the arm back in place every few weeks. I don't think that mechanism was designed very well since this doesnt seem to be a rare thing.

Any chance you're aware of a DIY or some other resource that shows pictures of this mechanism? I have an issue where my floor vents on the passenger side remain open when the dial is set to blow toward the face. Other settings seem to work normally, so I don't necessarily think the module is toast. I would appreciate an opportunity to study up a bit before I attempt to tear into it.
