Trying to figure out what could cause it

    This year
Truck would pull left or right unexpectantly and ONLY does it if the 4wd is engaged at 30+ mph
    Dirt smooth road
    Or snow lightly covered pavement
    Did the same thing

Your engaging the ADD at 30 mph plus correct

Worn Fork on the actuator not fully engaging

Could also be slipping and grabbing .

not all roads are slopped correct might be the roads

Getting any noise at all ?

Broken teeth on the front differential causing it to grab or slip

if you drive less then 30mph engaging the ADD no issues ?

Not all Tacoma`s are the same maybe it does not like being engaged over 30mph.

After all it is getting older

I am thinking A arm bushings. Lift the front end off the ground and check for movement in the A-arms with a pry bar.

hmm, just thinking out loud here. I am thinking that this just might be "normal" for the road conditions. If she is a non traction control rear end, meaning an open spool/one wheel drive and the front axle is engaged and that is an open spool I would expect this. In an open spool differential power goes to the wheel with the least traction. With a locker both axles get the same power regardless of traction of the wheel, thats why drag cars will make an immideate turn left or right depending one which wheel looses traction, the other wheel drives it around because it is spining at the same speed.
If she is a trac-lock rear end it should kind of push the truck through, again, depending on traction.

Its not about engaging at 30
I meant to say that steering wonder starts at around 30 mph and higher

I have driven these roads for few years and never experienced this situation thats why iam thinking its a new occurence
Now that im thinking about it more will removing sway bar cause this? But then again only happens when its in 4wd

I removed sway bar sometime this summer but i dont recall if the steering wonder started before or after

    Thank you for input everyone

Could be it is just more noticeable when in 4wd might be tire wear or out of balance.

I notice a difference with no sway bar other say it makes no difference

It is very distinct driving down the road and truck would turn hard right or left randomly
Have to force the wheel the oposite way to stay on the road
Tires are about a year old
