My uncle is a used car dealer and I took him to auction to get my Jeep. Im not sure if it is a state by state thing but some auctions you had to have a dealer license to bid.

Thanks @PackCon I've been to them in the past dealer only public etc. More or less wondering how to find out when/where the lender will have this auction/vehicle go up.

I'm assuming whatever company(s) do auctions around me must send out blasts to members or whatever.

If the bank is doing the auction themselves, I think they are required by law to post notice in the newspaper classified section under public notices. It should be based on value. Something like, over $2500 value must be posted. Of coarse the laws vary by state. If they're not doing the auction themselves, it will probably be at Copart or IAA or similiar.

It's also possible that they are required to send notice to the registered owner of intent to forclose on a lien and sell at public auction, which should show the auction location and date. So, have your mother watch the mail.

10/4 they sent one letter saying private auction on or after yadda yadda after sale if anything is left it's owed if we get more than owed it's yadda yadda.

Basically fuck you we will do what we want when we want because we are Wells Fargo and we have changed for the better but not really after that whole scam of opening accounts without authorization and charging people for insurance on vehicles when they already had insurance.

Not that I've reported all of their failures and bullshit to the CFPB :)

This explains everything. I fucking hate wells fargo. They treat their customers and their employees like complete shit. If i could choose one of the "too big to fail" banks go out of business, it would be wf in a heartbeat.

Have you asked them who they are going to collect the difference from?

The "plot" thickens (drum roll):brianr:, he was cremated. I told them point blank I will give u x amount an auction will give you considerably less what make more sense to you. They did the while we will still be owed and attempt to collect. Told em good if you can contact him let me know I'd love one more conversation with him as well. Wouldn't we all?

    Haha great response.

Unfortunately the banks are a heartless senseless business and the poor employees are required to adhere to their rules and not negotiate with people.

I hope you find it at auction though!

Agreed those who've been human and you can tell are stuck doing what the boss/bank says I've been as nice as possible too. The others who don't get it don't care or just try to be dicks well I treat em in kind. They aren't gonna rattle or piss me off I verbally eviscerate them and don't raise my voice or lower myself I know how to be a dick and get away with it.

FYI thanks all for everything never did find out about the auction either it didn't go up yet or me and my dealer connects aren't getting lucky.

Never the less decided on the wisest economic decision and not the emotional get it back and say screw em and I'm not gonna try to get her back.

With the mileage body issues and frame not having been done yet just not worth it.
