My truck will not move while in drive or reverse. I have tried it in all gears and it will not move, it will lurch forward (when in a drive gear) or backwards (when in reverse). I put it in 4x4 (just to try something) and it moved about 10ft. When it was moving it felt like the breaks were engaged. I checked the E break and it was not on, the regular breaks didn't feel like they were engaged either. Mine does not have a dipstick so I cant easily check the trans fluid. Any suggestions would be great. Its a 2011 dbcb 4.0 v6 4x4.

tacomatrd22 I know you just screwing with me but, thanks ass. I was quick typing and made a mistake. Yes I meant brakes, not breaks.

    I would check it anyway.

You also normally drive forward and backward, so.. I would rule out the easy things.

I haven't looked into it yet since I just got my truck a couple months ago, but I did notice the lack of a dipstick for the trans fluid, is there a fill plug? like on the diff? Maybe you can check it there?

No money, all went to truck...
Did you just wash the truck?

I have had issues with my rear brakes. When I washed the truck, somehow water got into the brakes and the next morning my brakes would be frozen. SOmetimes it would pop loose, 2 times I had to have it towed to toyota for repair.

Sounds like you need a good transmission shop.

There's a check plug on the bottom (might be passenger side I can't remember) of the transmission. Takes and Allen wrench and the plug has "check" stamped on it

    Update.
Got home and got underneath the truck and couldn't see anything out of the norm. I disconnected the battery for about 10 mins, reconnected, cranked it and put it in 4h (cause that's how it moved before) I heard everything engage so I dropped it into 4l heard change gears. It rolled forward a few feet, I tried reverse and it rolled back a few feet. Took it out of 4x4 and it was back to normal. I'm not sure if it was from disconnecting the battery or from putting it into 4l or both. It always felt as if the brakes were engaged and holding it in place. While driving around it didn't feel any different.

Thanks for all the input guys

There is a little more to it than that... Search the forum. It has to be at the correct temperature first. And the check plug is not on the bottom ( or all the fluid would drain out). It is on the side.
