I have a 2016 Tacoma SR5 V6 with Guide Point GPS security system and my truck just recently started honking randomly while off and parked four times rapidly. I have no caution or maintenance lights coming on while in the vehicle and i haven't been able to see if its my vehicle or my security system. I've had my truck over a year and it just started happening. Any help would be great before turning it over to the dealership.

You think that is what it is though?

Cut the power wire and that will tell you for sure...I doubt it would be a Toyota issue.

Well, if you disconnect the aftermarket alarm and the problem goes away, you've at least diagnosed it pretty well... I can't think of anything else that would have those sort of chirping effects.

I agree, its probably the aftermarket security.

I bought a pre-owned Accord last year. A few months ago it started randomly honking. I then went under the dash and noticed a cheap shock sensor spliced into the factory system. I cut its power and bypassed the relay. Problem solved.

Take it back to the shop that installed the system.
