Nice to know, I haven’t seen this.
I didn’t know you could do this.

I have seen a few post similar to this, and after a while.
Well, it was the aftermarket alarm.
And that sucks, especially when the user has no idea how to reset it.

I've seen aftermarket alarms/immobilizer systems cause so many issues from no starts to dead batteries to locking people out they just aren't worth having. Nowadays if the factory immobilizer doesn't prevent theft no aftermarket one is going to, anyone with any knowledge of automotive wiring can bypass most of them in minutes.
Many people buy used vehicles and have no idea they are even there until they cause issues.

On the serious though, the only way to reset those BS aftermarket alarms is to gut them out of the vehicle and revert all ignition wiring back to their respective original wires entirely. Most of the time you can tell within seconds if a vehicle has an aftermarket alarm, most of them are wired by rookies or super sloppy to the point where it is obvious what is going on under there.

I’d just assume let someone take it instead of over protecting it. Just take valuables out and let it ride, it’s seriously just a bottom of the line truck. That said I treat my Porsche the same. Insurance is a good thing
