    Dead battery.

Boost it, charge it or replace it.

Figured. That sound just scared me. May just get a new one since I don’t know how old this one is.

This. Check with multimeter for sure, then get a jump and go to store. Most auto places can officially test cold cranking amps, etc. But thats usually the culprit. Now to worry if you have electrical drain. Leave a light on??? Good luck and post back what you find out.

Did not leave any lights on to my knowledge. I have noticed it a little slow to start past few weeks but today was just bad. Not sure how old battery is since I bought the truck used last September. I do live in Arizona now and I have read that warm weather can be harsh on batteries? Tried jumping it with my GF's camry and her battery died too LOL! So now we have AAA coming to try to jump start, what a night!

Update: My truck would not even jump with his 14v jump starter. Said I was only putting out about 8v or something and said I would need to get a new battery. Looks like I'm going shopping tomorrow!

Why’s that? Girlfriends Camry started right up for him, mine didn’t even try to turn over.

Battery is shorted likely, can't boost them unless you have an intelligent booster.

I'm betting something else is wrong with the truck. Has anybody hooked up jumper cables backwards lately?

Haven't hooked jumpers up to it since I've owned it. Only thing I can think that might have killed the battery is I used the outlet in the bed of my truck to blow up an air mattress two nights in a row while camping the other weekend. I didn't turn the truck completely on, just turned it to accessory. I also live in Arizona though, and heat supposedly kills batteries faster and I don't know how old this battery is.

Well, I'm still gonna stand by either the AAA guy is an idiot or there's something wrong with your truck that a new battery isn't going to fix.

Does the starter still make that rattley sound? If not, it wouldn't be the 1st time a AAA guy hooked the jump box up backwards and blew a bunch of stuff.

Still makes same noise, my girlfriends Camry made same noise too when I killed hers trying to jump mine. I am going to replace the battery tomorrow and will report back for you. Just gotta figure out what battery to get :annoyed:

99.9999999 % the battery.... no need to overthink this. The jumper pack just didnt have enough CCA's to deal with the dead battery AND cranking.

Yep, AAA guy said batteries last an average of 2 years here... whether that is true or not I'm not sure. But I am not going to break the bank buying a battery I will probably need to replace in a couple years anyways. Probably going to get Duralast Gold from Autozone tomorrow.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was close to that. Especially with the heat y'all get in the phoenix area. I forgot to mention that the X2 has a 5 year free replacement. 20% off if you order online and pick-up in store, and they even had a military discount as well when I bought mine. Just some food for thought! Good luck man!

You have 2 dead cells out of 6 in the battery. 8 volts is all it can transfer by jumping to the battery terminals. You could jumper cable to frame ground and starter hot wire but I dont think the ECU would like that. Something to remember if you were in a life or death scenario though.
