Truck won’t start

    We brought it up to a costco and sure enough its dead, it was a really weird experience

    Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
    It only takes a few full discharges to kill a battery. IIRC, non-deep cycle batteries can tolerate 20% discharge, and deep cycle can tolerate 50%. Any more causes sulfation and early death. Check your parasitic draw. Also check your alternator, as said by others.

    So you're saying the battery in there is the original, 13 year old battery? That's crazy impressive. Most batteries don't make it past the ripe old age of 5.

    Making a mountain out of an anthill. If you say you just bought the battery, problem is with the battery, either got a bad one or bad connection. Start simple man, sheesh

    i used to work roadside assistance for a couple years and 99% of dead batteries I saw/changed were under 5 years old.

    I had a handful that were less than 1-2 years old but they were always in Rossmoor, a senior living community. The owners of the cars would always tell me they only drive it once every few months.

    Just bought a new battery after it died, just making sure it wasn’t something to do with the security system

    Doesn't mean its not bad,more than a few NEW batteries have been bad,have it checked under load.
