Hello everyone, I am in desperate need of some help. I was working on my truck last night and used a wire pushing tool to push a wire through the grommet under the dash. Now my truck won’t start. I am not sure what I did. I don’t know if I nicked a wire with the tool (it has a pointy end) the truck has power but it won’t even attempt to turn over. It’s a 2017 double cab V6 manual transmission. I also have the left side switches out to wire up the led that I was attempting to install. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You would probably get better help in the 3rd gen section but I'll try.

Your saying it won't crank, click, or anything but everything else works?

Sorry, my apologies for putting it in the wrong spot. Kinda stressed out right now.
Correct I can turn it to on and everything comes on I even hear the fuel pump but nothing when I try to turn it over.

So I didn’t realize that the syringe like thing that I used to route the wire looks like I went through the middle of the bundle. I did it last night and didn’t realize it till today.

I'll look at some diagrams in a bit, do you have a standard key or push button start?

That's not good, it doesn't take much to nick/break a wire with the tiny wires stuff uses.

Standard key, ya, I don’t know what this will entail. I imagine I’ll have to bring it to the dealer as I am not this mechanically inclined to take on that bundle of wires

    Holy shit!
You probably nicked a wire at the least maybe just a blown fuse. Check under the dash and the hood. Then worry about the wires.

    I don’t know man.
You might want to at least try?
The dealer might try to get you for a full harness. :spending:

Ya, it’s been that kind of day. Any ideas on how I would start to tackle fingering it out? I’ve looked at the bundle of wires but I don’t really see any broken ones. As for the fuse box. Is there a good way to test the relays?

Dm93 is a lot better than me.
But I’d start with the 5A AM1 fuse.
Then pull the STA relay and see where we are missing power.

Kind of reminds me of the time I accidentally drilled through a harness on a car trying to make a hole to run a wire, I was stupid and didn't put something there to keep me from overshooting. Yea that wasn't a fun repair...

Dealers typically won't repair wiring harnesses, they usually want to replace them. An independent shop may fix it depending on the location and if it's acessible to fix or not.

    I don’t why?
But some dealerships just don’t want to do wire repairs.
They want to replace the harness.

Hahah did that with my truck bed drilling a hole for the bed cover… nicked the fuel line that time…. Had to take the whole bed off to patch the hole…. I have a trend

Okay, start with fuses and the relays.

I can test the fuses pretty easy but can I pull the relay out and run a multimeter on it to see if it’s getting power. I’m a noob with electricity so I assume I would put the positive prong down in there and ground the negative on the chassis to see if I’ve got any volts running through that circuit?

Looks like a simple starting system circuit just like 2nd gen trucks, I'm with @TnShooter start with checking the AM1 (5A) and AM2 NO 1 (30A) fuses and go from there.

    ST Relay

Pin 1 Power from clutch switch (should have power with key in crank position and clutch depressed)
    Pin 2 constant Ground
Pin 3 Power to starter S terminal
Pin 5 Power from Ignition Switch (should have power with key in crank position)
