I have a 1995 Toyota Tacoma single cab that has ran great for years. But now when I'm running the A.C and the temperature outside is hot once I turn it off, it won't start until it cools down a bit. I wait 5 to 10 minutes and it cranks up. It's not running hot or anything like that. Has anyone else had an issue like this?

    Stock. EZ pass.Dump pass.Inspection sticker.Convict printed lic.plates.FG cap.
Purge selnoid stuck open or not sealing/leaks. Before hot start open gas cap, close it. Floor the go pedal on first crank. Second crank fires right up? = Replace purge selnoid.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
I had a starter that wouldn't crank when hot. Replaced it and boom.

If you mean that the starter doesnt crank the motor then yes... the starter has what is called heat soak. This is usually an indication that there is an issue with the cables that go to the starter, the cable ends at the battery, the starter or the grounding system. A voltage drop test preformed by a good tech can determine if it is one or all of the things I mentioned. Taking it to an auto parts store and having them check the amperage draw via an inductive tool can lead you down the wrong path, they WANT to sell you parts, not necessisarily the parts you need to fix your problem.

Thanks, everyone for your info. It will turn and turn, just won't crank until it drops a few degrees in temperature. I can let it sit for days/weeks and it will always crank right up. Just when I have the A.C on and it's hot outside the temp gauge doesn't get high or overheat while driving, but it will just shut off and not crank for a while. I'm frustrated with it and want to try to fix it myself before taking it to a shop.
