I was surprised too, but it did get into L4 without any hesitation.

I'm going to just wait until my dad decides what he want to do about it. It is his truck after all.

Very interesting situation. I've never heard of this happening. I'm sorry but I don't think I have anything to offer in the way of help or ideas. Everything I was thinking of has already been said.

I'd definitely put it in the air and get the wheels off. If the brakes are clamped down then you have a brake system problem further up the chain of command. I don't think BOTH would have stuck like that at the same time. That's kinda odd. I'd think it has more to do with the system.

But if the brakes aren't clamped you probably have an axle/diff problem. No idea how anything like that would have happened from just sitting there.

I was kinda thinking the same way as you with the brake system. It doesn't make sense that they would stick like that all of the sudden.

Is it possible that something with the ABS is messed up? Maybe from getting wet? Are there sensors near the front wheels?

No. But are their any sensors that could be reached if you spray in the wheel wells?

Damn... same thing happened to me about a year ago. I was out of the country for 8 mos... girlfriend got my truck washed at a drive through car wash... then parked it in garage... two weeks later tried to move it and the rear braked shoes had rusted and the truck wasn't mobile... she had it towed to the stealer and they charged $350 to free the brakes and "clean" them... ridiculous! she's no longer the girlfriend!:p

Dad's truck, minor mods.. Saving for my own :)
This happened to my truck after my brother used/ washed it. The rear(parking) break froze. Try letting it sit a while.

Weird that the front calipers are clamped down. If the truck was put into park, and even with the parking break applied, this would not have anything to do with the front brakes. Definitely jack up the front end, remove the wheels make sure the calipers are not stuck or anything else funny in there.

That is my plan. We've had the parking brake stick before, but this is way different.

Not drums. It's the front disk brakes.

If he's spinning the rear tires and it's not going anywhere, that's no longer the fix.

oh crap then I have no idea... This happened to me once, ended up being the rear drum locked up somehow.. Gave it a few whacks with a rubber mallet and it was good to go

Traction control is on, and reverse does the same as drive. It feels like either one or both of the front calipers is stuck. I am going to jack it up tonight and take a closer look.
