If you have a very poor sense of smell or bad head cold you might not be able to smell a hot brake or brakes !

It is possible to have a failing wheel bearing not making noise but most times something is going to be leaking .

So i jacked up one tire at a time. The fronts roll freeley. New brake pads, bled the brake fluid. Now when the truck has been sitting for a while. And i go to accelerate the truck absolutely wont budge. Then out of no where BANG and it will move. Or i will barely touch the brakes and its like im slamming them on. WTF IS HAPPENING?

It goes Bang?? Or that was just a expression ??

Auto Transmission ??? Might not be a brake issue

Nope. I was under the assumption they should not roll freely unless the transfer case is in neutral.

No. Put transfer case in 2hi / 2 low and trans in neutral and jack both rear wheels off the ground. The rear wheels will spin at the same time, but they'll spin freely if the rear brakes are properly set up. Is your transfer case or transmission not going into neutral for some reason?

Transmission and transfer do go into neutral but the wheels do not spin freely

Even when both rear wheels are off the ground at the same time?

If both rear wheels are off the ground with the parking brake off it shouldn't matter if the transmission or transfer case work or not.

Spin one wheel and the other will spin the opposite way. It won't matter if the driveshaft can turn or not.

If you hold one wheel fixed and spin the opposite then the driveshaft will have to be able to spin. If you're in gear or the drivetrain has a problem then nothing will spin.

If you have both wheels off the ground and the parking brake is supposed to be off but is hanging up then nothing will spin or it might be very difficult. That's the brake hanging up.

    To be clear.
The transmission WAS in Neutral when checking the wheels for rotation?
    And neither wheel will spin?

Seems like the parking brake is hanging up. I'd defiantly check the cables and brake hardware.
