Hey guys new here. I have a problem that just started yesterday where my truck will go up to 30 mph and rev up to 3k but refuses to shift. Has anyone here had the same problem? There's no lights on the dash and the only other thing I think it could be is my 4x4 shift actuator that I recently replaced
    Thanks

Yes it will manually shift, the shifts are hard, I was thinking maybe a shift solenoid but I'm not entirely sure

If you manually shift it, can you get it to shift past 30 mph and 3k?
What I am getting at is, maybe the shifter or PRNDL switch is bad (unlikely) but worth a try.

What is the outside temp when this happens? Cold?

Outside temp was about 35 degrees and we just had snow in the last 24 hours

Let the truck warm up longer. Do you start it up and go when cold?

Gonna sound dumb here, but I've seen a guy do it, are you sure you're not in 4Lo?

I usually let it idle about 15 min while I get ready for work, it's never had this problem before and I've ran it in colder weather

So I went under the truck on my lunch and checked for that, manually put it into 2 and had it on a rack, no lights are on the dash, every connector is on securely, she just doesn't want to shift

Does it not shift at all into the next gear? Or eventually shift? When it's warmed fully does it shift smoother?

It won't shift at all, when it's warm the manual shifts are still hard

If you know a good transmission guy I'd have them flush the fluid, not a drain and fill. Also the TPS could be an issue. Just throwing ideas out there. If you're not mechanically inclined have someone who knows Toyota's look at it.

I'd consider myself mechanically inclined, I did replace most parts on this truck myself over the years , including the motor, but my diag skills could use some work, I think I will take it to a transmission shop and get an opinion, I figured I'd see what you guys have to say before doing so

Hopefully it's something simple. Let us know.

You are stuck in low range.

Did you check the fluid level? You might have a slow leak and not even know it. Happened to many of us here, corrosion on trans cooling lines causing pinhole leaks.

Unless both the 4WD and 4Lo lights are not working, it’s highly unlikely.
OP could even unplug the 4Lo indicator switch on the transfer case and check, but I really don’t think he is in 4 Lo.

I think OP needs a scan tool.
He could tell what gear he is in then.
