Ok so i have a 2017 tacoma and it doesnt wanna start it takes like a good 20 min if i keep insisting.. it feels like the battery is low but after a while it turns on normally, in the cluster shows warning (check charging system) this happens every now and then cant predict wen it will happen again its fustrating because it left my wife and kids stranded at school from picking up the kids she had to walk home with my 3 kids under 5 at 90 degrees the wife was pissed . Truck is now at the dealership but said that there is nothing wrong with it they want to keep it to see if it happens again if by tomorrow nothing happens they want me to pick it up and bring it back next time it happens again but we would be in the same place because by the time i bring it back the truck would be fine .. i know its ganna happen again its done it like 6 times this year .. so am asking if u guys have had this problem or at least heard of such thing ..

My first battery made it to the 28 month point and died.

Yours may be in that boat too.

That's exactly how mine acted when the battery didn't have enough juice to turn it over.

How much do you trust this dealership?

At this point i dont trust them anymore they wanna just brush the problem off cuz they cant figure it out. After i keep insisting it turns on and drives normal for a good while with out any issues

Wouldn't it just be way easier and much less of a hassle to buy a new battery? Its the battery dude.

Go a size up, too. Makes a huge difference.

After driving to the dealer after a good start the battery probably tested OK. I'm assuming they only did a quick check without a load test.

Your problem sounds like a weak battery.

I usually just go to the autoparts store, have them show me a list of batteries, and pick one of the higher end ones. I haven't been disappointed.

Make sure the CCA meets or exceeds the stock battery.

If the problem ends up being the battery send the receipt to Toyota Corp and they will reimburse you for it.

24F is the Factory Battery size, you can move up to a 27F if you use the battery tray from a 2nd Gen with tow package.

I popped in a 27F Duracel from Sam's when the 24 factory battery committed electricide.

Thing runs like a champ, no issues.

    Doesn't fit Tacoma.

    You need a 24F or 27F battery.

I had a yellowtop for my civic and only last 5 years. Junk. I could get a regular battery for half price and last 5 year.

If going for lead acid and in a warm climate I’d get the smallest amount of CCA possible
