I'm fixing to trade in this POS. first the marker lights go out now it won't crank at 85,000 miles!!! Anyway the truck sounds like an automatic gun whenever you go to crank it. Idk wth is wrong with the sob. Has anyone dealt with this?

Sounds like a dead battery. How old is the current battery?

Yeah that's what a dead battery sounds like when you try to start it up.

It is coming from that end of the truck though, it sounds lower than the battery

Im gonna go out on a limb here, but maybe you should hook up some jumper cables before selling it

your battery doesnt have enough juice to crank the starter hard enough to get the engine going... the noise you hear is the starter trying to start the car..

Battery has enough juice to engage the starter but not turn over the motor. Jump the truck, and then drive to get the battery tested somewhere. Charge or replace depending on what the batt tester says

the clicking noise is coming from your starter solenoid. There's not enough juice in the battery to get the starter to engage and turn over the engine. The clicking noise in my old ranger was ver faint and is much louder in my taco.

As mentioned, just hook up some jumper cables and give it a go. Pretty sure it will should start just fine while being jumped.

Edit: I shoulda refreshed the screen before posting, haha. Sorry for posting same information!

Batteries can be a little unpredictable, the battery in my tractor lasted 9-10 years then just went completely dead after using the lights on it one night without any indication that it was going bad. Parked it in my shed and it wouldn't crank the next day, that is a pretty long time for a battery to last though.

    De-badged and blacked out
    Go out to the truck.
    Open the hood.
Lean over a give battery a dirty look and shake your fist at it. (I prefer to add a few cuss words, but you don't have to)
    Close the hood.
    Get inside and start it.

If truck knows what's good for it, it will start.
If he refuses to work with you, shot it and/or set it on fire.

    Call insurance company...
