    Markus_War,
Thanks for jumping in and welcome aboard. Just curious what do you think caused that fuse to blow when you were doing your install.

Thank you. My truck alarm went off during install. My alarm went off due to a bad hood sensor that ended up blowing a fuse, obviously you can set your alarm off other ways. My sisters truck after I installed the 12volt kit is still going strong after almost 2 years.

A defective hood sensor will not blow a fuse. The system gets the hood pin status (if applicable) from information passed along the the CAN bus.

In OP situation, more than likely the loose wire going to the module was the 12v from the SLP Power or perhaps ignition from the harness. and it shorted with the ground wire or something else.

Could be the piston return springs got in a bind when you last turned it off, use a left handed adjustable to loosen.

On the real yeah as the other guy said use a voltmeter they are inexpensive. Bought one at Walmart for 15 bucks works fine.

You can get one for like $5 from harbor freight. You shouldn't be doing electrical work without a multi-meter.

Working on auto electronics for 14 years I used my blue point pistol grip test light every day. My fluke multimeter maybe a few times a month if I was lucky.

You are correct I believe more or less it was the alarm going off then recognizing the fob was in the truck . All good though live and learn. To me with his steering wheel being locked and push button start not doing anything it sounds like the fuse. Not saying it couldn't be wiring in any sort. Only time will tell if OP ever gets back to us.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Just FYI, peeking at the fuses doesnt do anything. A multimeter isnt really needed the check fuses either. Pull the fuse out and hold it up to the light; you'll know if its blown.

Have you tried installing your fob into the factory slot?
My kia did something similar to this once and all it needed was to re-pair the proximity signal to the car.

Do the pbs tacomas have a fob slot?

While I agree heartily with the sentiment, this hardly qualifies as electrical work. It is literally un-plugging and plugging connectors. And yes, you need a multi-meter for times like this when the un-plugging/plugging goes wrong. The only problem is, if you don't know you need a multi-meter, it is HIGHLY likely you have no idea how to approach using one. And yes, people SHOULD learn.

But it would be a shame if prospective buyers of 12-volt felt like they need to have and understand how to use a multi-meter to install this device. Not only is it extremely easy, but the vendor is available virtually 24 hours day. Don't ask me how I know!
