I am expecting a baby soon and I am thinking of selling my truck and getting a 4runner. My truck is a 2010 prerunner with 70k on it dbl cab with a 3" icon lift and Alcan rear springs, a new rci skid plate, led light, almost new 285/75/16 Procomp mt2 tires. Wondering what you guys think I could sell it for.

So… you have a double cab tacoma and you want to sell it to get a 4 runner for more space I'm guessing? I would keep the truck imo…

You have a great vehicle for a family. If you were moving into a car then perhaps you would get an answer. Why would you get rid of a 4 door tacoma for a 4 door suv.

I bought my Tacoma when I found out we were having a baby. I understand maybe if you have several kids...but one baby is perfectly fine in the Tacoma. That being said, the 4Runners are great looking vehicles and you really can't go wrong.

As for value, I recently paid $24k for a 2010 DCSB TRD Sport with SC, TRD Exhaust, and Truxedo bed cover with 85k miles. So...you might be somewhere in the 25k range, depending on your area. Mind you, i'm not expert.

Yeah I went from an access cab to a double cab a few years after my daughter was born. Car seats just didn't work in the access cab if someone was riding shotgun. But the double cab has just as much rear seat room as the 4Runner. It's actually bigger than the 3rd gen 4Runner we had when she was born. Of course if you don't need a bed the 4Runner is a sweet rig and secure storage for all the baby junk is nice. But honestly if you're looking for maximum value for sale or trade I would put the truck back to stock. Your field of prospective buyers for a modded truck is pretty small. You have to find just the right person to buy it.

Nice looking rig man. I have a 2 year old son and take my 3 year old nephew out all the time. There's more then enough room in the double cab Tacoma and with how the rear doors are designed compared to the rear doors on any SUV it's easier to load/ unload kids into the back seat whether the carseat is facing forward or backward. Just my opinion. We had a '97 Mercury Mountaineer before we bought the Tacoma and it was a pain to get the kids in the back seat. I shopped around and test drove every newer vehicle SUV/truck out there for a year and a half before getting the Tacoma (wife wanted a Patriot or Escape) I wanted another truck.

Like others have said you'll actually get less then what you would if it were stock because of all the mods. Better off selling to a private buyer then using the money for a down payment if you really wanted to sell it that bad.

It's not always beneficial to sell privately. When trading in, you get a tax break so if the trade in value is close to private sale value, it's better to trade it in. You only pay taxes on the amount of the sale minus trade in value.

You get the tax break if you sell it privately within the 30 days before you get your tags. Or at least that is the rule in AR and I assume that is how it is any other places.

Those big stinking cars seats can push the boundaries in a doublecab Tacoma. My 7 year old fits fine in the back, but my 3 year old has a lot less room because her car seat pushes her legs to the back of the passenger seat. My wife's 4 runner has more room in the back than my Tacoma. I guess it just depends on who will be riding in front of the car seat. I'm.not comfortable riding shotgun in my truck with my daughter behind me. I have to move to far toward the dash.

Due to the location of the rear wheel wells and the rear doors on the 4runner, the back seat of a Tacoma is slightly easier to get in and out of as well.

does not work like that in Tn. hard to sell an expensive truck nowdays. so many scams out there, would only accept cash or do the deal at a bank where i could walk out with the cash. certified and cashiers check can be faked or stop payment put on them after the deal is done. seller beware!

I'm 6'6" tall and don't have any issues when I have carseats on either side of the back seat and my son and nephew have more then enough room to kick. Just my opinion.

Not much difference in rear seat room between a Tacoma and a 4Runner according to specs on Edmunds.com. One car seat in the back of a double cab is doable, with 2 it gets cramped. I personally like space in my interior.

Well it is good to hear a lot of people have Tacoma's with kids. I had some friends tell me that there trucks just didn't cut it. I guess they were wrong. Thanks I will keep the truck maybe I will get a hard cover for the bed.
