Just got a call from my dealer all frantic as he just got a call from Toyota corporate. My truck that should be here Monday is on hold at the Baja plant and that all trucks are on hold. Even the one on their lot that got here yesterday from the Baja plant is on hold. They are not allowed to even start it. He didn't know why or what was up but said the delay would probably be a week or two.

So they probably did something wrong with all the trucks at that plant?

One can never have too many light bars.
Sounds like they caught a manufacturing error. At least it's early and not when they have 100,000 trucks on the road.

Probably a good thing. Find something wrong and stop the line before the trucks get out.

GM would have just kept it a secret for ten years while people began to die. Better to fix a problem than knowingly sweep it under the rug.

Pretty sure GM just paid out a huge amount for doing just this.

on "old-gm" cars. Name a car built after the bankruptcy that had a known issue covered up. We have stop-sales all the time while they investigate potential problems before cars can be sold.

So what's your point? I said it's good that Toyota could be potentially isolating a problem before it is widespread. Do you disagree?

Yeah old gm would do this, when they first rolled out the new Colorado they had to stop production and stop sale for an airbag issue. What this really shows us is Toyota to can make production issues. I'm curious as to what the issue is. For those who already have trucks a recall will probably be issued.

Maybe if you ask which models are for sale, we can start narrowing down which Tacos are the ones with the defects...

Ask if the hold affects your build.
