On another note, I spoke with one of the General Fleet Managers at Toyota headquarters to see if there was any information about a Stop Sale/Hold Sale and he informed me there is no such thing in effect. There are no recalls, no part issues, etc. The only thing that is holding the vehicles up is the plant has been swamped with orders and that is the reason they have had to push the production of the vehicles back because they have taken in more orders than they can handle. Currently they are no longer accepting any major orders, that the production year has leveled out. The single orders put in may possibly make it through but his main focus was saying dealers or companies most likely will not be able to place a huge factory order for vehicles.

Basically, put your orders in soon and pray they get accepted.

Spoke to my dealer today. Initially my Baja built Tacoma was supposed to be manufactured on 9/12. He just showed me today that the build date is now 9/26. So, there must have been something to this delay. I saw his computer screen both times.

So, when I mentioned window sticker to him, he said that the window stickers are not added at the plant. They are done later and therefore the delay must have been for some other reason other than the sticker. He said in the northeast for example, the stickers are added at the port.

Although I am not happy about this two week delay, at least it eases my mind that whatever the situation was, they cleaned it up before building mine.

Now, does anyone have any idea how long it would typically take a truck to get from production date in Baja to a dealer in NJ?

Well for me, I am currently driving (and selling) a truck that has 180k miles on it. Had it for 13 years so I am ready for a new truck now and not waiting for the "potential" for the 2017's to be better than the 2016.

Im in NY, my dcsbtrdor was supposed to be built on 9/18 and the date was bumped to 9/26 ( also from the baja plant). My brother in law is the sales manager and has no other updates. He said its typically about 3-4 weeks from that date until its on their lot.

Sounds about right. Its got to get across the border which has been an issue. Then to Long Beach and put on a train to the closest depot to Jersey.

YEP and its not that people cannot order ...Its just that now people can order and the dealer can check to see if that optioned truck is already at the port. Problem is it will have the $699 Mop and Glo and $300 mats on the Monroney Sticker put on by the regional distribution owners.

The only thing my Limited is coming with is the tow package and the all weather mats with sill protector. I am fine with that. Everything else I will add at the port or at the dealer.

Yeah that's pretty much it...Expensive Interior and exterior coat of Scotchgard and wax, free oil changes all for $700.... Wax it yourself... I would never let a car go five years without loving care on the paint. I enjoy waxing and preening my vehicles. I'll take my truck in for dealership oil changes as I do with all my vehicles as well.

One of the reasons I ordered a truck was to bypass the port distributors from putting on any mop and glo extras like ToyotaCare and $300 Floor Mats.

    I get that.
And I don't mean to think that the 2017 or 18 will be better. But there's no doubt that supply / demand kinks will be worked out.
And the new model frenzy will subside. It's not like I'm driving junk. But heck who knows...I may be posting my new '16 in a few months. :burnrubber:

Glad you enjoy it. I'm so bitter I didn't buy sooner... I wanted a 2014 Spruce Mica when it was new, 2015 they disappeared and I ended up buying a used 2013... No joke, I'd rather give up gen 3 vs gen2 just to have a dark green truck.
