Wonder why they've never done a LT truck on that show or xtreme 4x4?

Maybe because they're based out of TN? :notsure:

I just watched all 5 episodes of Extreme with the Toyota. Awesome truck. They should take that out on Trucks! to compete with the Jeep.

That's what I'm afraid of. Their solution to everything seems to be a small block, dana 60's, and 44" boggers...

EDIT: Ooops, too late, already put Ford axles on it.
    http://www.spike.com/full-episodes/...art-4-custom-axles-suspension-season-3-ep-129

    You know, trailer queens.

I'd like to see a nice, clean do everything 4x4 Double cab. Long travel IFS, can be driven on the road, but can fly in the desert and crawl on the rocks.

Yup, okay, they're morons... it's official. And I was right, too (see above post - they used 44's!!! lol)

Why use a Toyota as a base if all you do is replace all the important parts with domestic POS's. I didn't see the video, but I'll just assume they broke the toyota parts because they drive like idiots and no throttle control. When in doubt, throttle out seems to be their mantra. Their heavy feet are compensation for not being good drivers.

I wheeled for YEARS with 100% stock toyota axles cerca 1986 and they NEVER even winced, let alone broke.

Solid ales are great, if all you do is rock-crawl.

But I prefer to wheel on more than just big rocks (i.e. sand and dessert) and to actually drive my truck to the trail...:D

All of the Spike TV shows have way too many sponsorships to waste their time making a truly reasonable daily-driveable truck. Even when they say it's daily driveable, they still put parts on the truck that make the project cost way more than they say.

They talked about how the screwed up putting the 350 engine in. Said if they were sensible and left a Toyota 4cyl they could have wheeled for years on Toyota axles. Problem was that the 350 and all the low gearing was too much for yoga axles. And that is true.

My first post talking about their solution to everything being a small block, dana 60's, and 44's was before I went to the website, and I haven't seen any of the videos (yet).

holly shit man, they put a small block in it too???

    lol

I was right about that too!!!

I watch Trucks and Extreme4x4 when I need a good dose of red-neck. That's about it.

That's just it, I don't think they do. They STILL put a 350 in it. They probably think their "mistake" was not putting the axles on at the same time as the engine swap.

They always complain about the underpowered 4cyls from Toyota. If you want more power, get a 3.7L V6 you morons. Then you don't have to add 2 metric tons of axles and tranny, just to compensate for your inability to realize "hey, Toyota makes a 200+ HP V6, maybe we should try that..." You don't need a 400HP 350 in a compact truck.

    This.

I like the Spike TV car shows just because it's all we get as car guys (unless you have the money to pony up and get Speed Channel or stuff like that). But they are all a bunch of rednecks that think more power is the solution to everything.

But then, I guess it makes sense if they call the whole block of shows "The Powerblock"

Too bad the Stacey guy doesn't host it anymore. He still had a similar attitude but you felt like he had some control over the programming. His Copperhead street truck was amazing. Overpowered, like everything. But that's fine in a street truck.
