TRUCKS! (Spike TV) 1st Gen 4x4 Build

Never liked him. He makes great stuff, but he is a tool. Laughs at himself way too much...And he is Canadian.

 

So is the dude on Xtreme 4X4. Never seen someone on TV with such an obvious canadian accent. WHAT YOU TALKIN ABOOT?!

 

I feel like you'd get a similar result to their driving style by just wedging a rock onto the throttle peddle and letting it go.

 

I find Ian far less offensive and he does have some serious skills although buggies do not interest me at all.

The Canadian thing was a joke BTW. Stacey has a mullet too.

 

Why do you think I liked him?

 

Just gotta build the truck to drive on the road. Ever seen KOH? TONS of SA trucks. Shit first place and 2nd place was a SA truck.

Also they put the "domestic POS axles" Under it because they are stronger and full width. A dana 60 is damn near indestructable under a mini truck.

I just watched the episode where they put the Jeep against the Tacoma and what a bunch of BS... The Jeep was lifted with SAS and running on 37" tires, where the Tacoma was bone stock except for a turbo and a pair of rock sliders.... And they went rock crawling? What a bunch of morons. They beat the crap out of that Taco and it still almost made it all the way through until genius got it high-centered on the sliders.

 

what's sad is that they actually still call this a "toyota" with a straight face. Only the sheet metal is still toyota...

 

Even though I don't like how they put the V8 in there, it was still a pretty solid build and a very clean on too.

 

Love watching the power block but I hate when they turn a budget build into freaking 20000 dollar build but at least there reping the Tacoma though.

Speed was basic cable when I lived in Vt and Oh. It's also basic cable here in FL. sucks that you have to pay extra for it where you live.

 

no kidding, they start off looking like something like the average owner can do, then take it over the top and to the 10th degree and make it ridiculous

As usual, I didn't agree with everything on the build. But, overall I was pretty impressed with this one. Good show!

I really like the solar panels and cab rack/light mount. Also might looking into that tree guard idea
