Agree with everyone else, definitely worth buying, but not for $499. That is cool that it is pressurized though.

I may go as high as $100 depending on quality of the tank only because its a package deal and no running around collecting the parts.

I'm a small start-up company. I wish I could charge $100-150 for a good, concealed system like this. Parts alone cost a lot more than that. I use a good quality tank from West Marine.
    http://www.westmarine.com/buy/todd--polyethylene-water-holding-tanks--P011_334_003_504
Along with a good water pump, custom-made brackets, an in-dash on/off switch with multiple hoses and fittings, this is a bargain! I'm offering free installation in the San Diego area just to promote the Truckwater system.
I currently have one in my truck and by appointment it can be seen in action.

399 sounds like a decent ballpark to me. The materials are top notch and it fits a niche that at least to my knowledge isn't covered well right now... Maybe those of us who are forum-goers wouldn't pull the trigger for that price, but I can assure you a lot of people would. Sure parts might be cheaper, but personal R&D isn't cheap. I would pay for someone having done the legwork for me already.

FYI people. In the OBW thread, I don't think any of the solutions we are doing are any where near the 200 and below mark

This is a great idea but if you sold it for $75 more than the cost of what it takes to make it you would have a winning product.

Yeah the price, $500, is way too much for 3 gallons of pressurized water. Id rather throw $1.50 into the car wash and use a bunch of gallons if i felt the need to use it that bad.

    cool concept though

    Not enough...
Sorry, I still don't see how even $399 is a bargain for that.

The 3gal tank listed on West Marine web site for $69.99 is available for $44 all over the internet.
Marine Utility 200GPH pump is $35 from Harbor Freight
Hoses and fittings cost practically nothing, but lets say you get them for $20.
    Brackets? Another $20.

This is $120 in parts, but lets say its $150. You offer free installation, but even with an hour of labor at $75/hr I don't see how this would be more than $200-$225.

Also, why would you run a switch to the dashboard? Water outlet is in the bed, so this is where I would want the switch to be.

Not trying to knock down your product, and I understand that this if your idea and you want to run with it, but I just think you are vastly overcharging for what it has to offer - 3 gallons of water with a shower head.

Agreed. It's so much easier buying something that someone else has put time and effort into...

If he is using a RV type 12volt pump with the recirculate for the pressure when it's not running through the hose then it easily cost $150 for the pump. If he is using quality components then $399 isn't making him a lot of profit guys. This setup looks really good in the truck with it hidden the way it is. Nice job Charlie!

Cool product OP. If I had the extra cash I'd consider it.

Is it possible to have it installed on the passenger side also? I know 3 gallons of water is not a lot of weight, but any weight added to drivers side just ads to the Taco lean. I try to avoid making that worse. I have a strong pimp hand, but don't want my truck to have too strong of a pimp lean. :D

This is how I think ^
I'm sure that many more on TW think the same . After all , the biggest reason most of us are here is to Learn ... How to do things yourself .... Great ideas for Mods .... and to Help each other .... Oh , and let's not forget the Entertainment and Ball Busting !!

Some things require a "Higher Price" due to the specialty involved , such as Welding , or electrical , mechanical .... Whatever the majority of the people would not have access to those tools or knowledge base , if you know what I mean ? For most of us .... Like me .... $$$ is a deciding factor
So .... I personally would lower the price and sell more
But that's just me .... Good idea .... Hope you can work your nitch

    I'm trying to find one
